  1. I have more expensive reels but for pure satisfaction I would have to say my Zillion SV. Over 100 hard fighting steelhead on it and still butter smooth. I have had many cars in my life (96 to be exact) and the most satisfying of them all - a 2009 Cadillac DTS. Still have it too!
  2. Great thanks I think I will have to do this- HRF PE having the same issues.......
  3. I cleaned and lubed with no change. Rather than ruin it myself trying to replace parts any recommendations to send it for repair?
  4. 2019 Daiwa Morethan has gone "geary" on me. Does anyone know what will be a direct fit for new main and pinion?
  5. Dropped off a broken rod mid July and still waiting...........
  6. You should see it about next summer...........
  7. Nothing like the sound of a hot steelhead peeling off line racing all over the river- Love the sound and have added clickers to all my reels that came without.
  8. Daiwa HRF PE- Smooth as silk after 100+ salmon
  9. Back on topic does anyone know where a guy can find an 8'-9' UL casting rod? NFC makes a 901 blank and I recently broke mine but may just have to get a few more made.
  10. Check out the company reviews before thinking about placing an order with them-You may get your rods in 1 month or 10 no matter what they tell you if you can ever get anyone to answer the phone. Great rods but worst customer service I have experienced EVER and many, many more agree.
  11. Daiwa Morethan PE Zillion SV Zebco?
  12. Best fit to my hand of any reel I have had was the Chronarch MGL but after replacing the original main/pinion and it going "geary" as well I finally decided they just were not cut out to handle steelhead.
  13. Yes, great reel! I'm surprised they are not more popular. No issues hauling in 20#+ salmon
  14. Always been a tat fan but since the zillion sv showed up it maybe time to part with them-There's no going back..................
  15. Sufix Elite- Durable, supple line with great visibility in either yellow or orange
  16. Look for reviews on edge before you think about it- Absolutely horrible customer service and BBB rated F. My personal experience has been horrible as well and I will never buy from them again.
  17. Daiwa HRF PE I have both tat sv's, the elite and and a ct . By far the best casting and zero back lash on any cast is the HRF PE. My favorite steelhead reel for tossing 2/5 oz spoons.
  18. I don't get bass fishing- Why fish for something that is not going to pull like hell and do cart wheels out of the water? Joking aside I do love BFS for big trout...... And yes-a season ticket holder to the women's basketball team? GO DUCKS!
  19. I have the 17 & 20 sv along with the Elite- Love them all but the 17 definitely feels a bit geary compared to the others but it does have quite a few salmon & steelhead on it
  20. Tried the concept C a few years ago and after sending it back once then having shims sent to me I sold it dirt cheap. Loved the look and feel but was not smooth. Also tried their Creed spinning reel- It was complete junk and after one outing was returned. I hate to say it but the big 2 is all i will ever waste my time/$ on.
  21. Abu Revo STX Must have been about a whole whopping 8 years ago- Had no clue and many birdsnests and frustration. Never could get it to cast very far and im quite sure it was operator stupidity. Fast forward a few years and now have at least a dozen casting reels from tatulas, Morethan, HRF PE, bantam mgl, curado mgl and a bunch of vintage shimanos to look at. It becomes an addiction...............
  22. Sunline Siglon F in Pink is fantastic and easy to see- I tried blue Sunline Supernatural one time and could not see a thing.................. The fish in my waters dont really care about matchy matchy
  23. Float & spoon fishing for salmon/steelhead The faster the retrieval rate the better as the presentation is made in freespool
