  1. Right now my Fav combo in my Arsenal and caught my PB on ( 6 1/2 LB LM) is my 7'3" MH Duckett Ghost with Lew's speed spool LFS reel 6.8:1 left hand reel. Looking for a good rod to switch to for around $100 to $150. Going to try the Dobyns Fury series soon as they are on the market. So my Fav combo may change.
  2. I am debating on buying Denali Kovert rods my self. I have a couple of Ducketts but for around the same price I could get a Duckett Micro Magic pro rod. I am wanting the Denali Kovert cause of how many guides they have on the rods thinking they will be really sensitive. But if some of you are saying the Duckett is a better rod sensitive wise then I may just stick with that.
  3. The best $100 rod on the market is a Duckett Ghost series rod.. check them out. also check out this video
  4. I'm using a Duckett Ghost 6'9" med Hvy spin rod paired with a mitchell reel for skipping a weightless senko under docks and other cover.
  5. All Lew's here.. I have a couple of BPS pro qualifiers cause of pricing, but now that Lew's has a new Speed Spool LFS at $99 thats what I'm sticking with. I have never had any issues with Lew's.
  6. I really like my current skeeter its smooth for a 15 foot boat. just need more deck space and storage.. as far as nitros go, I am not a big Murc fan.. I don't want a 2 stroke engine I want to run a Yamaha SHO 4 stroke or Suzuki Matt black 4 stroke.
  7. Looking to purchase a new boat in the year or so. Currently running a 2002 Skeeter ST15. But I am needing more room and storage space. budget is less than 35k would really want to keep it under 30k. Looking at the current boats now Ranger RT188 Skeeter TZX190 Ranger Z117 Anyone have any of these boats, Pros/Cons? Or have any other suggestions? features I'm looking for is a big casting deck, able to store up to a 8ft rod, and have plenty of storage. Thank you
  8. I thought about buying it. But then again I figured I just get a couple of jigs in different colors.
  9. what is everyones thoughts on this kit from bass pro? are there better kits out there? http://www.basspro.com/Bass-Pro-Shops-67Piece-Tournament-Series-Jig-Kit/product/68548/
  10. Interesting set ups. are these things I can purchase at Bass Pro, Academy sports, or Gander mtn?? those are the 3 stores I have near me.. also Dicks Sporting goods. I went with the BP Bionic blade rod cause it was like a duckett rod at a lower price. I like the narrow eyes seem to have smoother cast. I could be wrong but thats what it feels like.
  11. So, Thought I would share my new purchase today. I went to BassPro to look around and end up buying a Bionic Plus Bait Casting Reel and a Bionic Blade Micro XPS 7'0 Med/Heavy fast action rod. Rod says its for worm/jig fishing on the handle all for $140. On the way home I stopped at the local fishing hole to try it out. I was impressed by it. Cast was smooth, and long. I have to admit, this was the most I have ever spent on a rod/reel combo. I plan on buying up a new rod/reel combo each month from here on out until I have completed my collection. If you guys have any recommendations I am all ears. keep in mind, I am on a budget lol. Thanks!
  12. Oh yeah it was rush for sure. The rod and reel will be for multipurpose use right now. I plan on trying to purchase a rod and reel each month.
  13. Awesome! Thank you very much for the info. I'm on a budget like most everyone else I'm sure so this helps out a lot. I've always fished with cheap knock off brands of rods, reels, and baits. But now I'm slowly getting into tournament fishing and I know what I already have isn't going to help me do better.
  14. http://m.gandermountain.com/modperl/product/details.cgi?pdesc=Gander-Mountain-Frog-3-5-Pumpkin/Chartreuse&i=765511&r=view&from=grid Link above is what frog I used yesterday. Seem to do very well, very life like bait when I would walk it on top of the water.
