  1. He can teach both. He put on a series for my bass club once.
  2. Ironically, I was actually trying to help the guy. Looks like I should have just kept quiet.
  3. Where are y'all launching?
  4. Friday nights..7 to 11. I think it's about over for the summer though. Not sure how long they run them.
  5. It's not quite that bad. We fish some dogfights there every other week. It normally takes 7 or 8 pounds to win. These are a 3 fish deal from 7 pm to 11.
  6. Catt...a guy was telling me he ran across a hump near Tennessee Bay in the boat road. You know anything about that? He talked like it got pretty shallow...which might not be good if the water levels get low.
  7. It can be a good lake but can also be challenging. We've had some good days (more so in the past) and pretty fair nights. Some are tough though. Which areas are you trying?
  8. Of those; I'd say Caddo. I know of some good ones coming from there. The river has suffered from flooding last couple of years and seems to have fallen off. I think Bistineau was full of salvinia a couple of years back according to some reports. I know it has plenty of cypress trees if that is your choice. Seems like Caddo does too but I've seen less of it than the others. I know a bass was caught there a few years back that would have been a LA. state record if the guy had been on this side of the lake.
  9. Click on the link again. This time look at the blue/green box on right side of screen.
  10. Guys..that is a huge fish. A shame but it's a prank. Saw the thread on another site. I think it was ***. You can see the message on there saying it was a prank.
  11. I'm hoping I have a good report tomorrow night. Going up in the morning. A friend and his son caught a bunch yesterday (He said probably close to 50) and I've GOT to try it.
  12. Nearly all the time; I use a Texas rig worm. Black, Black/Red flake or black/blue works. Not nearly as much problems if the cast doesn't go where you want.
  13. I'm not sure if this will help any or not. Talked to a guy that fished Saturday out of Pirates Cove. Said he caught about 80. I don't doubt the number but do know this: If it bites, it counts so can't vouch for size. Said they were between the inside grassline and bank. Most came on a blue/white spinnerbait. When they quit on it; he caught more on a watermelon/red baby brush hog on Tx. rig.
  14. Hmmmm...maybe you better use the big motor when you launch. That much water will make it tough with a paddle or trolling motor. Guessing it's what...50 miles up the Sabine from you?
  15. Don't you just hate it when that happens?
  16. We had a club tournament yesterday. Most of us struggled but one guy had a limit in about an hour. He culled once and ended up with almost 20 pounds. Think he caught them mid-lake on an umbrella rig.
  17. Where is Bass Champs coming out of? I have a club tournament there next weekend and I need to stay out of the way. Sure hate that you probably won't post until after then but can't expect anything different. Good Luck!!
  18. Anybody been there lately? If so, what are the conditions and did the fish bite? And if it's not asking too much...what type of lure were you getting bit on..or not getting bit on? Hoping to get up there this coming week and looking for a starting point.
  19. To clarify this just a bit....ability to read to smaller units means it offers more precision. Accuracy is defined as repeatability.
  20. It's a Skeeter ZX190 with a Yamaha 175HPDI on it.
  21. I bought one a couple of weeks ago
  22. Uh oh...looks like there are more than one. To be honest, I'm not sure which one. I have only found the one. I can tell you it's not terribly far off the bank. I see guys fish the weedline/bank near it a bunch. I was just wondering if it had been mentioned in here at some point. Thanks for all the info you are giving in here!
  23. Howdy folks! I'm Clif and I live just about dead center in the state of LA. I fish Toledo some and it's one of my favorite spots. Most of my bass fishing experience has been as a member of a local club; which I have been in for 20 years now. I'm still trying to learn all I can about the sport and hope to add a few nuggets of info here too.
  24. Howdy folks..I'm new here and noticed this thread. I have a ton of reading to do but am looking forward to it. Thanks for putting the info out there! Is there anything in this dealing with the hump just on the outside of Lowes Creek on the north side? Also, anything in the LaNana area? I fish those some. Thanks!! C
