  1. Any public access bank spots along the very Southern part of the St. John's River...? Thanks in advance!
  2. Does anyone know if this merger also includes Bass Pro and Cabela's in Canada...?
  3. I started flipping and pitching this year and caught my PB 4.06# largie, in a tournament no less. Needless to say, I really enjoyed that and will be doing more of it in the future.
  4. He did say it's consistent across all the wraps... I agree with sending Loomis pics and expressing your displeasure with the workmanship. On a $100 rod, sure, that's acceptable. $500...? No way, for me at least. I also agree with the sentiment of going custom if you want a perfect rod.
  5. Get a good set of precision tools from Whia or another manufacturer who makes high quality tools. A couple of dental picks are really helpful, as well as some small tweezers, a good pair of small needle nose pliers, and a good spool pin removal tool (Daiwa makes a really nice one). Some guys who do this a ton have ultrasonic cleaners and an arsenal of specialty tools but unless you're doing 100 reels a month, it isn't worth it, unless you're a tool aficionado.
  6. That is really helpful, I'll keep that in mind for the next time out. Thanks!
  7. That's on my must try list, thanks!!
  8. How about this scenario: a lake I usually fish has only really produced on a shakeyhead. But, there's lots of isolated grass clumps along the bank and they look pretty fishy to me. The water is on the clearer side of things (3-4 feet of visibility) so I'm still going to try a beaver-style bait, but I was wondering about a longish ribbontail worm too. With the fish liking a finesse presentation like a shakeyhead, would they typically be more likely to go after a worm versus a beaver-style bait...? I realize there isn't a surefire 100% answer here, more wondering if anyone has has a similar experience. TIA!
  9. I'd love to know where you found the Tatula XT, especially for that price!
  10. What is this tube method you speak of...? I'm intrigued.
  11. Hook, I saw that one end of she really gets into it I might pick it up at little later. It's hard to justify that kind of expense when we're not sure if she'll even ever want to fish, yanno? J, I was thinking about that as an option too. I could probably wrap it myself, maybe even get her to help with it. She loves working on things with me so that might be a fun Daddy-Daughter activity. KDW, the rod I have for her hope is that long and it's just too long for her to manage right now. Between the length and how whippy it is it's too much for her to coordinate.
  12. All I've been able to find is an ugly stick and I've rather get her something that she will use for a good long time. Any suggestions? Thanks!
  13. Can you post a couple of pictures? That will help us figure this out. Sounds like you need to resemble the magnet ring assembly, and/or reglue the magnet ring to the plastic toothed ring.
  14. I use everything from 4# yo-zuri (light trout cranks) to 15# cx (regular bass cranks) as well as bad with a leader if I really want to have fluoro on there.
  15. I go to a rod like when it's really windy and I need to throw something really light and I don't want to deal with picking out professional overruns every other cast. It's also great if I'm fishing from a kayak because of how versatile it is.
