  1. I use a bag I got from bball works great! Easy to carry and stores tons of baits
  2. I would like to start using a weigh bag when I measure my fish to decrease the amount of time my grubby hands are on it and decrease the amount of stress on the fish's jaw. If anyone could help me out that would be great.
  3. In Ohio nothing catches bass like tube jigs and single tail grubs.... They smash these until the freeze.
  4. I agree with what you posted I just didn't read it correctly when I responded I read it afterwards but didn't want to retract what I said since there had already been replies.
  5. The man is undoubtedly the greatest mind to ever to coach in the history of the game i.m.o. As far as I know he is the only coach to win national championships at the High school(Massillon), College(Ohio State), and professional level. He has been credited with a few other things aswell: 1. 40yd dash 2. Facemask 3.Bill Walsh credits him with creating the west coast offense 4. IQ tests for players 5. First coach to study game film aswell 5. integrated Pro football and did it before Jackie Robinson 6. I'm sure there is plenty that I am missing aswell He was a great innovator and in my opinion is partially responsible for football being as great as it is! Check out the special tonight at 9 on the NFL network! http://www.clevelandbrowns.com/news/article-5/Paul-Brown%E2%80%99s-innovation-influence-celebrated-in-%E2%80%98A-Football-Life%E2%80%99-documentary/b36c58dd-0485-4489-bde1-5ac90eb29d15
  6. I meant to say very rarly on occasion not very occasionally For whatever reason it won't let me edit that post
  7. I do not think I am a better fisherman than kvd. The question was could you beat kvd the fact of the matter is fishing is not like bball there is no chance of beating LBJ in one on one in 100 games. I talked to a guy who fished a tourney with a man that did nothing but sit in the back of the boat drifting senkos and chain smoking ciggs caught 20lbs of bass had the best coangler weight and boater weight. I'm not going to say I would never ever stand a chance or that I would beat him regularly but very occasionally I would/could get him.
  8. While I sense your sarcasm you do bring up a good point. A reason a lot of people don't do those tournaments is that they can't afford to take a week off of work to learn the lake like these pros do. What they don't show you is that these guys get 30 to 40hrs on the lake before the tournament. Scott Martin FLW angler of the year fished 6 tournaments that's around 240hrs of vacation time who can afford that? That doesn't even include the cost of towing a boat all over creation, hotel costs, and boat maintenance. Yes I do know that they have sponsorships to offset some of the cost but acquiring the right type of those is a whole different issue hardly related at all to bass fishing.
  9. I like that you can actually see what is happening in the water from a bass boat and that you can cover water quicker from a boat. However, I really really really like fishing from my kayak; I can catch some big fish in water that is only 2-6 inches deep and are back hiding in the button bush and sumac bushes. I can also fish some of the very shallow rivers in my area that are home to some very nice smallmouth and pike that you could never get to in a bass boat.
  10. I know on my favorite bodies of water in Ohio I can catch fish in numbers and on my best days I would stack my best bag against anyone I think that would be his strategy aswell(weedlines deep with crank). That being said though some of the local pros around here could very easily beat him given the size of bags they bring in on a constant basis.
  11. The rivers up here are open as are parts of the O&E canal around portage lakes or so I'm told. Sometime this next week I'm going to fisherman's central and am going to check out Long lake(portage lakes).
  12. Has anyone tried this? With the level of detail in a lot of plastics today I was wondering if the bait would hold up. By hold up I mean in terms of form and action after you melt the affected portion of the plastic.
  13. 1.Bowfin- Sometime in late July when they stack up you're pulling out 18-30 inch fish by the cast!
  14. Mogadore has tons of fish in it! I know people who do very well there. For multiple species.
  15. Deer in nature are omnivores... when you see them in nature they are eating insects aswell as snails and other small Nitrogen providing sources when available to them.
