  1. Long before my time! Haha
  2. Yes, it would absolutely remove the protective slime coating from the fish. Why not just weigh them from the lip and/or gill opening like everyone else?
  3. I don't even want to know how much money has been won off of a trick worm throughout the years.
  4. I normally don't go below 40lb braid on my casting reels. If i'm super brave, I'll drop to 30lb. You're just asking for digging in issues using braid as thin as 15lb. test.
  5. Interesting to see nothing on any of the northern Midwestern bodies of water. Lakes like St. Clair, Mil Lacs, or any of the Great Lakes. But I like seeing them go to new bodies of water. The Washington event should be interesting. Another thing to note. I understand why they do it because these guys put enough miles on the road as it is, but I hate whenever they stack events on back to back weekends. Looks like they're doing it twice next year. April 4-7 Elite 3 Lake Hartwell Anderson, S.C. April 11-14 Elite 4 Winyah Bay Georgetown, S.C. June 13-16 Elite 7 California Delta Sacramento, CA June 20-23 Elite 8 Columbia River Tri-Cities, WA
  6. Buck Splizzors, hands down. They're going to run you $70-90 if I remember correctly, but they cut braid the second they touch it. Plus they come with a nice sheath and extra blades. I'm on my 3rd or 4th season with mine and I'm still on the original blades.
  7. Those all look like largemouth to me. I'm not sure spotted bass live as far north as NH.
  8. Dicks selection has been scaling back more and more every year for the past 3-4 years. It's sad to see brick and mortar stores continuing to scale back.
  9. I don't foresee anybody putting out something nicer than the Curado DC.
  10. I very rarely buy used reels. However, regardless of where I buy one from, I always immediately send it out to a professional to be looked over and gone through. I personally recommend Delaware Valley Tackle. @Delaware Valley Tackle
  11. Brownells and Cheaper Than Dirt are always having good sales.
  12. I'll take quality over weight as long as it's under 10oz...
  13. I own two of the Curado K's and I honestly think they're the best reel out there in the sub $200 range. I have not used an Okuma TCS, but I have held them and I definitely feel like the Curado K feels much more solid in the hands.
  14. Glenn always pays out Circuit City gift cards to the top 3 performers in our group at the end of the year.
  15. I was totally thrown off by this tournament being Friday to Monday. I just logged in to check BassTrak and realized this...
  16. This event is going to be anyone's guess. I tried to stick with smallmouth/river guys. The main river channel of this lake is over 100' deep. KVD Feider Avena JVD Walker Side note - in the three years I've been doing fantasy, I think this is the first time I've ever picked KVD.
  17. Right? I remember paying $3 for them in the 90's. I remember in the early 00's buying a bulk lot on eBay of 100 of them without hooks for like $60 shipped. I wish I had bought more of them now.
  18. Because I'm a firm believer in our lord and savior - Green Pumpkin
  19. That's the worse part of catching a cat. Having to cut the first 5 feet of line off because they rolled in it during the entire fight.
  20. I forgot about jelly worms! I still fish those (and sniff them too every time I open them).
  21. Jitterbugs Devils Horse Torpedo's Pre-Rap Wiggle Warts Creme Scoundrels in natural nightcrawler Original Bill Lewis Rat-L-Traps (pretty sure I own over 200 of them)
  22. Hooksets are free.... I grew up fishing all moving baits, so I still don't consider myself an expert with bottom contact baits. I've been known to send quite a few jigs/t-rigs flying through the air during a day of fishing.
  23. Seems to happen pretty often for me...
  24. I was completely shocked to see Ish win. I followed the whole tournament up until about 2 PM on Sunday and I thought for sure that JPow or Tharp was going to win it. Woke up this morning and saw that Ish won and I was shocked. Congrats to him though. I know it's been a few years for him.
  25. Woo! Tungsten sells a 5/8oz flipping weight. I'm not sure of anyone who makes a 5/8oz barrel weight. Because of the nature of tungsten and the fact that it's made overseas still, the market isn't huge for it.
