  1. I get them, so it must be your spam filter on your email or something. You can always subscribe to this thread. This is a pretty active thread and is probably the best reminder you can have for FF.
  2. Congrats! My son was born March 1st last year. Maybe our sons will square off in the Bassmaster Classic some day.
  3. My group is all over the place again. 62, 7, 58, 40, 50. It's a tight race though. 60th and 7th place are only 5 pounds apart.
  4. My squad for this event.
  5. I own 2 Avid 7' M-Fast action and 1 LTB 7'1" M-Fast action rods from St. Croix. By no means would I consider these rods to be a MH by any other manufacturers terms. Obviously this is a blank that fits my fishing style very well, but they certainly aren't taking over any duties that my MH rods are doing.
  6. Living in Pittsburgh, we have a large urban community, and outside of the 3 rivers downtown, and Lake Erie about 2.5 hours north of us, all of our lakes are limited horsepower lakes. Thus making prime water for kayakers to get out on safely without having to worry about big water that gets windy, or large, powerful boats with big wakes. A few of our local lakes are totally overrun with kayakers once Memorial Day hits. One lake in particular is a narrow, long lake (only about 100-200 yards wide in most parts). Groups of kayakers will go out in large floatilla's and string themselves out across the entire lake 20 yards apart and completely block the lake from any boat traffic. I'd say 90% of the time they aren't fishermen, they're just pleasure riders who are clueless to how ignorant they are being. In PA, you are responsible for your own wake, so if you blow past a kayakers and upset them and they get hurt or lose property, you can be responsible. Another thing that upsets me about the pleasure kayaker's is that they have no boat ramp common courtesy. Did you know that two kayaker's can take up an entire 4 boat wide ramp? They sure can, and they have no problem taking their sweet time and BS'ing with each other while multiple boats sit there patiently waiting. If you can't tell already, I'm not overly fond of the clueless kayaker's. In my experience, the majority of kayak fishermen know the rules of the water/ramp and are very courteous to boaters. So I have no problem with those guys at all, but man those pleasure kayaker's...
  7. Lanier blasts off tomorrow morning. Be sure to submit your team before the end of today!
  8. He's done that a lot in recent years. I always refuse to pick him because he's known to not even show up at weigh in's if he knows he doesn't have a chance of making any money.
  9. The Eco Pro Thunder Spins are the highest quality underspin out there. I love them, but I want to cry whenever I hang one up. Sworming Hornet is the go to for price and good quality. They've also helped a few guys win some big checks...
  10. You may want to avoid Abu Garcia rods too then. I own MH Abu rods that are on the XH side of what I'd call heavy. And I can confidently say that all of my Abu rods are more powerful than their listed rating.
  11. Pittsburgh's Chris Boswell was 4/6 from 30-39yds and 5/10 from 40-49yds this year. When 3 of your teams 6 losses were by 3 points or less, those points really add up.
  12. I base my picks on guys who are local(ish) to that body of water, past history on a body of water, and style of fishing that lake may favor to an angler (is it a flipping lake? river system? smallmouth lake? deep cranking?) and try to pick the best that I can. But what do I know? I'm in 68th of the 74 guys here who are playing.
  13. I caught the tail end of the San Diego and San Antonio game on Saturday night on CBS. The players seemed fairly talented. The only scoring I saw was a 38 yard field goal, which is more than what some NFL kickers can hit sometimes. All that being said, I'd be willing to watch it again. I wish they had some more northern based teams.
  14. I'm a firm believer in our lord and savior, Green Pumpkin. And if that doesn't work, his two disciples never let me down (black/blue and watermelon).
  15. What an event. Congrats to Clunn for getting it done. And I'm in the same boat with Combs. He's so inconsistent. He can be top 5 at a lake one event, bottom 20 next time there, and then top 10 again next time there. He burns me every time I pick him. In other news, the Lake Lanier tournament starts on Thursday. So you only have 2.5 days to get your picks submitted for that.
  16. My guys are all over. 57, 33, 1, 66, 38
  17. Johnny Crews with a nice bag going. That's surprising for me to see from him in Florida. Good for him. My dark horse pick, Robbie Latuso, with less than 1% of the picks, is sitting in 6th currently.
  18. Here's who I went with:
  19. Here's the problem whenever you want to purchase either the 853 or 854. Once you buy one, you will quickly know that you need the other to compliment it.
  20. Looking at the ownership percentages on the BASS website. Looks like lots of guys are picking off of names they know, and not paying attention to past Florida performances. It should be interesting to see how some of the househould names that stuck around fair out against these fresh faces in these Florida waters.
  21. First tournament kicks off on Thursday and we're up to 55 members! Be sure to get your picks (or roster changes) submitted before Wednesday night.
  22. @shovelmouth83 All the info is in the "Official Thread". Group Name: BassResource Password: BR2019
  23. Why not go with the Magnum Rage Bug? It's bulkier than the Lobster.
  24. The Curado line has had quite a reputation for 20+ years. The B and E series being the biggest standouts. Long story short, yes.
  25. That's certainly odd. I own 4 of these reels have used them heavily since they were released. None of which have given me any issues. That's odd that you've gotten 3 straight duds...
