I know you're in a kayak and space is limited, but this is a good situation where casting back with a follow up bait like a Senko or a Tube is usually pretty successful.
I have caught numerous perch and crappie on a Chatterbait with a 4" swimbait trailer. I don't know how they even get it swallowed to get hooked but they can do it.
I generally keep my colors simple. Green pumpkin is green pumpkin. Black blue fleck is black blue fleck. But there are a few unique one's out there that I enjoy.
Keitech - Bluegill color is so good for literally any moving bait presentation (swim jig, chatterbait, swimbait, etc)
Missile - Superbug is the most perfect colormashup ever. Green pumpkin and black/blue fleck all in one bait.
Rage Tail - Bama Bug is a mix up of green pumpkin and junebug (purple w/ green fleck)
What a finish. Taku with the clutch 5+ pounder late in the day to take the win.

We have 37 days before the boys come north and fish New York. Get ready to see some brown fish at the scales.
In my area, any store that has popped up over my lifetime that is a dedicated tackle/bait shop has never survived. Every shop that has stuck around and done well has another business that is part of the bait shop (gas station, gun shop, oil and furnace sales, etc).
