  1. Looks like X Zone is stepping up big for 2020, as they have announced the signing of Brandon Palaniuk. Sources say that BP will be helping them design some new baits. He was previously working with Zoom. https://www.xzonelures.com/site/home Looks like the Bassmaster website has already reflected this change as well. https://www.bassmaster.com/anglers/brandon-palaniuk?page=8&section=latest Mods - Move to the tackle section if needed.
  2. I believe the Mudbug jig is the same frame as the Sniper, just a little different lead shape. Maybe @Siebert Outdoors can confirm this.
  3. I live in PA. A 5 pounder is quite a feat. Cavitron. Caught in mid October. This one gets honorable mention. 4 and change. Caught on a 1/8oz Megabass Okashira Screw head jig and a 3" Hazedong Shad. Caught in early April. Water temps were probably just getting around 50*.
  4. I fish a lot of jigs based on a 2/0 hook. Here's a few of my go to jig trailers. Rage Tail Baby Bug (3") Biwaa Warax Craw (3") Zoom Z Hog Jr (3.5") Zoom Z Craw Jr (3.5") Netbait Paca Slim (4", bite off an inch) Riot Baits Little Fuzzy (3.25") Here's the Rage Baby Bug on a Siebert Sniper jig, which is built on a 2/0 hook.
  5. Sigh.... Another great little brand falling under an umbrella.
  6. If you're buying fishing reels as a retirement plan, I've got some bad news for you...
  7. Curado - if you like centrifugal brakes Tatula - if you like magnetic brakes Anything else if you prefer not having the best in your price range.
  8. For now, they have the household names that we've all known for the past 5-10 years. But the BASS guys are proving they're just as good sticks and the newer guys are just gaining more and more popularity.
  9. Try the Junebug color from ProTec. It's another great jighead color that you don't see on production jigs.
  10. The one's at WalMart could have been hanging on that shelf for a few years...
  11. Any of those should be fine. If you choose the Metanium, I'd swap the gears for brass ones if you're going to be frogging a good bit. I'd probably get the Curado K if it were me between those choices. But I'm going to agree with Mat, the Bantam is probably the best choice on the market.
  12. Hawgtech Tackle Trap Spool Speed Flea-Bay Hedgehog studio Or just call Shimano and order the 96mm version handle
  13. I got rang up for about $60 worth of stuff at Gander last weekend. Not bad considering it was 60% off everything. Lots of Senkos, Zoom craws and worms, and Berkley X5/9 braid.
  14. @Yeajray231 knocked it out of the park this year. I'll definitely be catching some fish on all of these baits.
  15. My wife's 12 pound Shih-Tzu strikes fear in the eye's of intruders...
  16. Bluegill and crappie are the main forage around here.
  17. They're a bigger profile than the Menace Grub. The body and claws both are significantly bigger and definitely show off a bigger profile. Whether that's good or bad is up to you to decide.
  18. Friendly reminder - lock your car doors. It's the holiday season and lowlifes are out there trying to profit off of you. I woke up this morning to about 2" of fresh snow on the ground, as well as a fresh set of footprints up to the car doors of both mine and my wife's vehicles. The steps went back to the back of the house and then turned around and came back. I spoke with the cops about it and they said someone hit every single car in our community and the next development over. Thankfully both our cars were locked, so nothing was taken, but I think others weren't so fortunate.
  19. No sir. That is a 5/8oz Boss head.
  20. This is a known issue with all of the new Rapala jerkbaits. Search around online and you'll see tons of guys having this issue. They need switched out directly from the package.
  21. Welcome. We're glad to have you.
  22. I got some cool living rubber colors and started tying.
  23. Wow, you made out pretty well!
  24. This. I hate whenever I get partnered with a boater who does this to his co. It's hard to really fish anything behind a guy like that unless you throw out away from the bank.
