  1. I bought one of the S65's back when you were talking about ordering them. Were you casting this on spinning or casting gear? It definitely feels too light to get good range on a casting setup, but I could be wrong.
  2. So curiosity got to me last night, and I swung by DSG again after work to see what they had left. They had some LC cranks down to $4, so I bought all that they had. I noticed in the store that two of them had Skeets signature on them, but I didn't think anything of it. Once I got home, I looked over the baits and noticed that there were a few different ways that the signatures were ever so slightly different. This makes me believe that they're actually autographed, and not just something printed on there at the LC factory. What do you all think?
  3. Only thing wrong I see here is that the buzz bait isn't a Cavitron.
  4. Sniper for mainline FC. AbrasX for whenever I want to use a FC leader.
  5. Well, I made out like a bandit last night. Went to the local Dicks. They had the Veritas rods on clearance from $100 down to $70. All clearance was an extra 50% off. I also had a $10 coupon for taking their feedback survey. So I walked out the door with a 7'6" MH Veritas for $25. I then drove up the road to Field and Stream (Dicks outdoor specific store). They had the Veracity rods on clearance from $150 down to $99. All clearance was an additional 30% off. I had a $20 rewards certificate and a $10 off coupon. So I walked out the door there with a 7'0" MH-F Veracity for $40. Some deals are just too good to pass up!
  6. I've had my master catalog for a few weeks. Got my spring angler catalog in on Monday.
  7. I love using tubes as a follow up to missed buzzbait bites.

Looks like I need to fill a few rod seats in with a reel...
  9. I just bought a pack or two of these during the TW 25 day sale. Looks like I should have spent that money on something else...
  10. I got ran off some land that I thought was public while salmon fishing this fall. There was 4 of down at this creek fishing. After about an hour or two, the owner came down and started speaking to me and kindly asked me to leave. I said we would happily oblige, and then I went on to start talking to him about fishing and hunting. I ended up talking to the guy for almost 2 hours while the rest of my guys kept fishing and catching fish. He ended up saying that we could stay and fish as much as we want, and then he went up and asked the adjacent property owner if we could fish on their land as well. He came back down and told us we could and he told us how far we could fish each way up/down the stream. We were very grateful for this, and we were told we could come back next year and fish all we wanted. So at Christmas this year, we sent both property owners a $100 Wal Mart gift card for giving us permission to fish their land.
  11. I would be more worried about getting a rod that's not moderate action, than what pound test I should be using for a worm hook. Like recommended before, I would use braid to help make up for that soft rod.
  12. I've got a Bantam Curado from... When were they released? 2000'ish? Yeah, it's been that long. Still works like a charm.
  13. I prefer Gama and Owner's over Mustad. I like the Trokar's too, but they're pretty pricey and they don't sharpen back up the same because of the way they're sharpened from the factory.
  14. I've heard great things about these baits. Haven't had a chance to pick any up yet.
  15. DD22 DT14-DT16 5XD - 6 - 6XD Scott Martin Goon Duo G87 20A Spro John series Bomber Fat Free series Damiki DC400
  16. The Rapala lineup of baits can really get you started. Husky jerks, DT's, Rippin Raps, Skitter Pops, are all good lures and they don't break the bank. Other than that, check out some of the Strike King stuff as well. Their 1.5/2.5 squarebills, and then the standard cranks as well ( 3, 3XD, 5, 5XD, 6, 6XD).
  17. I've been playing high end tournament paintball (even played 2 years of pro) for about 10 years. I was spending $40-80 a weekend just in paint, then add on all the travel, and about $300-600 per tournament (5 a year). So maybe to some, fishing is expensive, but to me, it's pretty cheap.
  18. I've got a spool of it, just gotta wait 3 more months to use it...
  19. I don't know. I heard that Cabelas logo makes every fish you catch grow a pound once you put it in the livewell.
  20. I bet if you went back and talked to a manager, you could get them to give you the money back, or maybe even just a store gift card.
  21. Brooke Thomas. Oh lord....
  22. Some of you might find this useful. Not sure if it works, but it appears to be active.
  23. You know you will. I think I've bought over 20 spools of line this offseason. I think I'm set for whatever I may want to throw all season.
  24. From what I've read on other forums, it's the same reel as the Type R, with a different accent color, and it has an extra bearing in the knobs. Other than that, it's the same reel, but you won't see every dealer out there online being able to sell them at a $1 over cost.
