  1. I own 4 of those ci4's and I have never felt any flex on any of them. Every single one of them has been a blessing to use on the water.
  2. Cavitron buzzbait DT crankbait Chatterbait
  3. Great job with all these video's Glenn and BR. I know there are other video's out there that showcase how to do many of these techniques, but none of them go into the detail that yours do or are as well produced. I'm sure this is much appreciated by everyone.
  4. I personally think that the HP restrictions is the dumbest thing ever. There are numerous lakes around Pittsburgh that have 9.9 and 20 HP limits on them, yet basically everyone on those waters has a 30 or 40 HP motor and different stickers on them so that they're legal. It's easy to tell whenever you see a guy running down the lake at 20-23 MPH and he's supposed to be capped at 9.9 HP. And then you have the guys who have a larger boat, like yourself, who are forced to use their trolling motor. Which means they're either not fishing a lot of lakes, or they're limited on how far they can go on a lake. God forbid something happens and your trolling motor dies on you because you won't be allowed to put your way back to the dock. They need to change the limit to a speed limit, just like the roads. Don't make it a 20 HP limit, make it a 15 MPH limit. Or, you could just make the 9.9 lakes completely "no wake". Because if you're truly using a 9.9, lets be honest, you're not making a wake, and neither will my Blazer 202 Pro V with a 200 Mercury on it if I'm putting along at 6 MPH.
  5. I just bought 4-5 packs of these to try out on Chatterbaits and to rage rig.
  6. I only back my drag off over the winter whenever my gear doesn't get used for 4-5 months.
  7. I throw a bunch of different one's: Keitech Swing Impact and Impact Fat Keitech Easy Shiner Zoom Fat Albert and Double Fat Albert Zoom Split Tail Trailer Bruiser Evil Twin Zman Diezel Minnowz
  8. I hate to necro a thread, but there is no information on this site at all about this lure, so I wanted to give my little review. I recently picked up a 3/8 oz Molix lover to try out. The swinging hook and shovel nose blade design intrigued me. If you didn't already know, the nose/blade on this is plastic and it's in a fixed position. So the blade does not move at all. Instead, the body of the lure thumps as it is retrieved, rather than a blade vibrating around and clacking off the head like a traditional chatterbait. Because of this design, the lure comes through the water much more like a small swim jig rather than thumping like a normal chatterbait. The profile of these lures is smaller than a traditional chatterbait as well. With the nose/blade of this lure being plastic, longevity is also a concern of mine for this bait, especially if you were to throw it around docks, bridges, rocks, or wood. For the money for this lure, I am a little disappointed in what I got. I'm not saying it won't catch fish, but I was expecting more of a chatterbait, and instead I got a strangely designed/overpriced swim jig.
  9. The DT10 is my bread and butter, but balsa baits do not mix well with bridge pillars...
  10. That new Shimano Crucial deep cranker would be ideal for 10xd's. Check it out. It was just released at iCast. In my opinion, a different setup is required for a 6XD than with a 10xd.
  11. I have no experience with Nanobraid, but I know a few guys who swear by it for dropshot. As for 832, this is my go to braid. I use it on spinning and casting gear, in various different sizes. I've tried almost all the various braids on the market, including some of the higher end one's, and I still go back to 832. The only other braid I would recommend would be the Pline TCB X Braid (8 carrier).
  12. One nice thing about rain is it keeps the pleasure boaters at home.
  13. I can't stand those little hammer handles...
  14. I already ordered the new DT and Shad Rap colors... I'll be getting some Rk Stars too.
  15. They work well. They hold up fairly well. They're fairly cheap. They come in great colors. 3/0-4/0 wide gap worm hook.
  16. DT10 3/8oz. Chatterbait Honorable mention: Cavitron
  17. Yes, there's quite a few shad colors already in the lineup.
  18. I don't know if anyone else has seen this yet, but Rapala is releasing their HD colors on a bunch of their baits at iCast today. The DT is my go to crank, so I found this interesting. Just thought I'd share.
  19. Largemouth (US): 5.1 pounds - DT10 custom painted craw Smallmouth (US): 20" (no weight) - Tube Largemouth (CAD): 22" (no weight) - chart/white spinnerbait Smallmouth (CAD): 21.75" (no weight) - Skitter Pop frog I like to count Canada as totally different because the fishing up there is totally different from the heavily pressured waters around here in western PA.
  20. I agree. I live in Pittsburgh, so any water that is public and easily accessible from shore gets pounded hard. The chances of catching fish from those lakes is tough. The catch percentages that the OP posted about are about the same here. To add to the "educated" fish part.. The one thing that I think makes catching fish in these ponds even tougher is the fact that they're basically fed daily with nightcrawlers and minnows from all the shoreline bobber fishermen.
  21. As with any crankbait, buy one that you have confidence in that fits your range, in the 4 standard colors: Bluegill, Chartruese, Craw, Shad. From there, experiment with what the fish like.
  22. I'm not sure where you saw the Fenwick HMX getting praise... The HMG however, is a great rod and well worth the $10 extra over the X.
  23. I've had no issues with P-Line 15lb on my spinnerbait rod. Like suggested earlier, try using the San Diego Jam knot. I personally like to dip the line into the water whenever I'm cinching it down.
  24. Purchased myself a new rod last night for a deal I couldn't pass up. Local store had an Abu Garcia Veracity 7'11" H-Winch on clearance for $99. All clearance was an additional 40% off. I also had a $10 off a $50+ purchase. I walked out the door with a brand new deep cranking rod for $50, that retails for $150.
