  1. Little over 24 hours left to make your picks. Hope you all enjoyed your holiday weekend.
  2. For the record, no Curado has ever had magnetic braking.
  3. Welcome to the family. I've been running Curado's for probably 25 years now, starting way back with the Bantam series.
  4. He's lucky to have found you and you knew what to do. I've had to remove a hook out of a friend before and it was not a pleasant experience.
  5. I sent you an email through the FF website (as group owner). Let me know if you got that email or not. That should tell you if something is up with your email registered with the FF website.
  6. As predicted, this event was an absolute slug fest. A 20 pound bag hardly meant anything and in the end, it took 113 pounds to win the whole thing. Congrats to Lee Livesay for getting it done. As for our fantasy anglers, here's our top 5 at the moment for the group. The scores are tight and there's still plenty of events left to go. 1. BassNJake 6740 2. PBuckley63 6738 3. sschrad 6683 4. ratman46 6679 5. NittyGrittyBoy 6671 With that being said, we have 9 days until Pickwick, so don't slack off. Start researching.
  7. Everything is running fine for me. 12 guys over 20 pounds before noon of the first day... Yeah, this is going to be a slugfest.
  8. I saw that yesterday. I had Brad on my team as well. I wish him all the best with his recovery from Chrons.
  9. Friendly reminder - picks need to be made today. Blast off is tomorrow morning on Lake Fork.
  10. I would not have a SLX on a frogging and heavy flipping rod. I'd have something much more robust. Me personally, I'd be using a Bantam. If money is an issue, I'd go with a Curado.
  11. Isn't tin (per volume) lighter than lead?
  12. Absolutely no idea... I've spent over 50 weeks of my life in Canada on fishing trips. Do that math alone. Doing some basic math on 25 baitcasters (a conservative number), I've got over $6k just in those.
  13. Keep playing like you are and I'll be mailing you one.
  14. Hey ya'll, remember me? 7 days to get your picks in.
  15. The legend Ray Scott passed away over the weekend at the age of 88. Hard to think what this sport would be like right now if it weren't for him. https://www.bassmaster.com/ray-scott/news/ray-scott-the-father-of-modern-bass-fishing-has-died/
  16. Friendly bump. 21 days to make picks.
  17. Wait, people actually pay attention to these fancy "names" that manufacturers give their rods?
  18. That's pretty wild, Allen! I always love seeing what you're up to.
  19. Sure it could be done, but it's going to lead to more frustration than success, just because the shape of a spinnerbait does not lend itself well to skipping. If I need to skip something, I'm going to be using something other than a spinnerbait. Underspins, swim jigs, bladed jigs, are all better options here (in terms of success and repeatability).
  20. It's a known issue that any balsa bait (especially billed ones) will break when slapped against the water to clear weeds/debris/etc. You, unfortunately, just learned this the hard way. Also, all of your DT's are trashed at this point. Please send them to me for proper disposal.
  21. I own this rod and absolutely love it. It is a fast action in my opinion. It is highly versatile and can handle a multitude of techniques. In the summer/fall, I love throwing buzzbaits on it in more open water situations. Yesterday I was using it throwing a 3" Spark Shad on a 3/16oz ball head and it performed perfectly for that. As for other techniques it would be good for - jerkbaits, small texas rigs, small jigs, lighter rattle traps, smaller topwaters, wacky/neko rigs. It's such a versatile rod for anything in its weight range.
  22. For me, in comes down to three different factors. How weedless do I need to be? Water clarity How aggressive are the fish? There's lot of times where you can go through an area with a chatterbait or spinnerbait and not get a bite. But come through it again with a more subtle swim jig and you'll pick up some fish.
  23. I got all 4 emails, and then a 5th email with the final day results again. Check your spam folder.
  24. I had my worst event all year. That one hurt. Regardless, congrats to JC for his second W of the year. We've got 37 days until the next event, which is on Lake Fork, so get ready for a slug fest. Our current top 3 is: PBuckley63 BassNJake Ratman46
