  1. Anyone know how this rod compares in action to the old mojo 7'4 MM?
  2. Thanks, I don't disagree. The NRX is a sick rod, but they don't come in full cork rear and they don't feel strong in my hands for setting the hook on jigs (I know they are plenty strong, just preference)
  3. Looking to upgrade my Dobyns dx745/Tatula setup. I strictly throw 1/2oz jigs in all cover (open water, skipping, pitching, etc) and it is by far the best action rod I have used for this technique, however I am looking to possibly upgrade/ball out a little depending what kind of feedback I get. For rod, I want to stick with full grip cork rear handle and prefer cork or some kind of covering over the seat nut. Some rods I am considering are: Xtasy 725/755 Conquest 844/904 GLX 844 mbr/ 894 fpr Expride/Poison Adrena? For reels, I prefer to stick with Daiwa. I have been looking at the new Tatula Elite, Zillion & Steez. I can skip fine with a plain low-end tatula but just want a super nice skipping reel. Opinions welcome, thanks
  4. Anyone know what size/type of tip would be on a 7' medium Mojo spinning rod? Tried reaching out to customer service to no avail. thanks
  5. Trying to upgrade the drag on a few of my Dad's cheap reels (Daiwa Laguna) and can't find drag washers by size. The existing washer measures roughly 26mm outside diameter and 16mm inside diameter. I know I can buy a sheet and make them but I'd rather just order them pre-cut. I measured my AirD drag while I was cleaning them and they are the same size, but of course nowhere I found sells AirD upgrades. I could take a Tatula apart but I figured I would try here first (already took my tatulas apart 100 times in the last few weeks). Any help appreciated! thanks
  6. Thanks guys, appreciate the answers. I'm sure this has been asked 100 times I just did not have time to search the forums today. And yes I meant shields, not seals
  7. In the past I have not taken the side seals off my bearings to flush them, but wanted to this time around. I was able to get the seals off one of the bearings (larger diameter one), but the other two dont seem to have snap rings holding the seals on (I might just be blind, was kind of in a rush at the time). Do these seals come off? Is it even necessary to pull the seals off, or is it overkill? I have an ultrasonic cleaner with acetone to soak them in, wondering what some other people typically do. thanks
  8. Just picked one of these up for my Dad for Christmas. Was hoping to snag a Stradic on sale but they sold out quick on TW...the Fuego seemed like a good alternative for the price. However, after reading some mixed reviews I was hoping someone out there has done some upgrades for the reel that they could share with me...I would really like this to be a solid reel for my Dad. For example, I've read that some people add a bearing to the line guide...would like to know what size these are? Drag upgrades, etc. any info greatly appreciated, thanks!
  9. Thanks, I know they have this I was just hoping for a real life measurement as the chart is a little vague.
  10. Hoping someone with a 7' Medium Spinning rod (older model) can measure and post the handle length from the bottom of the reel seat to the butt? Would be much appreciated. Thanks-
  11. I'll give the FG knot a try. I'll have to post pictures of what I'm talking about, its not the knot that comes undone, but rather the braided main line, right before the knot; It's almost like the braid is too limp and all the strands separate.
  12. Does anyone have this problem, and what did you do to fix it? I use an Alberto knot, and it seems like after a few casts the main line braid starts to unravel, and the strands get stuck in the little tag ends of the knot. No idea why this happens...it seems to only happen with Suffix 832 for me.
  13. Interesting question about water temp and prevailing winds ("a wind from the direction that is predominant at a particular place or season" fyi). I understand during a warming trend, that a prevailing wind will push warmer water into the shoreline/pockets facing that wind direction. My question is, what happens during a a cold front? Does the wind push colder surface water to the same shoreline? Or is it still warm water?
  14. Where the **** is the Long Pond launch?? I tried going there one night when there was no parking at Mascuppic and i ended up pulling into two different people's driveways thinking it was the ramp
  15. This past weekend was brutally slow for us. Does anyone know if Lee's Pond is accessible via the main lake in lee's mill? Would be in a bass boat. Have yet to check this area of the lake out in person..
