  1. I got the #3, the #6 looked far too bg. The 3 is only 4.5" were the 6 I think was like 8.5". Price is a bit on the top end for sure but seems like it is built to last. Nice skirting and I did notice that all the blade swivels are ball bearing style. Time will tell if it was worth the 15 bucks.
  2. I posted a while back about a bait I saw on a facebook page called a Heartthrob, I ended up having to order it off of a musky tackle website. Got here just as I was leaving the house to get to the lake so I had a good opprotunity to try it out today. Really neat bait, it is somewhat like a alabama rig but way more compact like a spinnerbait. Ran it slow just over the top of the weeds and let it drop into the pockets, seemed to work well and produced some nice fish. Anyone else throwing these? Has anyone tried putting a single hook on it instead of the 3/0 treble that it comes with? Neat bait, love to hear how other guys are fishing it.
  3. My budget is looking to be around $100-125 each, so that X4 is looking pretty good if I coukd get away with one for now. Thanks IAY
  4. Thanks everyone for the grwat feed back. Looks like a 7' M and H are the way to go. Looks like it is time to go shopping
  5. Somewhat new to "advanced" bass fishing. By this I mean starting to look at new rods and have noticed there are jigging rods, crank bait rods, jerk bait rods, flipping rods, etc. My question is; Is there a good cross over rod for muliple tactics or can you get away with 2 rods, one for jigging and flipping and the other for cranks and jerk baits? Any advice would be great, thanks.
  6. I am headed to northern mn for a couple days of smallie fishing and wanted to know if anyone had a good rig setup for droping into and off of boulders and holes? I know they often tuck in tight so looking to get it right in their face.
  7. I use fluoro for most all my applications unless am fishing heavy cover (trees, jagged rubble) have never seen or had an issue using fluoro with topwater baits. I like to hook set it gives you on topwater strikes as well
  8. I checked out their site and they had a good picture of the bigger one on there. If an inline spinner mated with an alabama rig it would produce something like this. Think im going to have to try one
  9. Means a ton when I am on the water! As soon as I see that pressure starting to drop it usually means the bite will be much more aggressive. Post front is just the opposite. Pressure goes up and fish will shut down and you will have to fish a slower presentation
  10. I saw this bait on a Facebook post and was wondering if anyone has used one or if it is even available yet. It is a #3 Heartthrob from Waterbeast Tackle Co. and I cant seem to find them anywhere. Looks like they mainly make musky size baits but this looks to be a smaller style bait for bass. Looks interesting.
