  1. I'm going to college soon and would really like to continue fishing whenever I can. I recently have had alot of interest in it. I went to Bass Pro and looked at travel rods, they had 1 telescopic and it wasn't the best at all. Way too whippy and only had 3 or 4 guides. They had a few other travel rods, Ugly Stick, Bass Pro brand and a Diawa...but were all spinning rods. I don't even have a spinning reel. I learned with baitcast because that was all my dad had . I recently bought a Revo S and would like for it to be the reel I take with me. I'm looking for a general purpose rod 1. optimally around 6' 2. 3 piece, will need to fit in backpack not carry telescopic is okay, just not many options 2. $25-$75 3. pereferably without a pistol grip of course if I realize I wont find every one of these so each is a flexible choice. I cannot spend more than $100 Diawa had one rod-the arid, little long and was a flipping/pitching rod. Bass pro has one on their website that looks like a really good choice-the micro-lite but the guides on the picture look like a spinning rod. Is there any choices that I'm missing? thanks
  2. Th I like the Shock but i like the Regular version's grip more. Do you know the differences of the two?
  3. So I'm new to the forum. Nice to meet everyone! Really getting into the sport lately. I bought a Revo S about a month ago and I'm really liking it. I have it paired with an Ugly Stick. I also have my grandfathers older Quantum e400 reel, on an old Lightning Rod. bought an Ambassadeur 5000c from a friend and now have it with an old Lightning rod IM6 of my dad's. (old menaing i dont know the age and t least 15 years old) Im thinking of getting a: 1. Berkely Cherrywood HD 2. Shimano Sojurn 3. Berkely Lightning rod Shock or the regular version. Thing is I've heard about Winn coming out with fishing grips. I'm very interested in getting these when they come out, as I like to play golf too and really like their grip style and quality. I'm not entirely sure how to remove the grip, so I think ill have to cut the old one off. That's why the cherrywood is my first choice-I've read that the grips aren't real cork. If I get a rod with real cork most likely I won't swap grips. Not wanting to spend over $50 right no. Any suggestions on rod or setup? thanks
