  1. I guess it may just be a matter of trying more spots; when you're going between Jensen and Ft. Pierce on A1A, or even north of Ft. Pierce, I see a lot of pull-offs on the river side; can you just park and wade? Again, I'm bringing my little man with me too; he's not quite as tall as me lol, water gets deeper quicker for him
  2. I must say, that for me, it's more about bending the rod that what I catch...... I camped in Sebastian last year, at the state park, and didn't catch anything there either, again fishing from the shore in the river...... maybe I just need to give the beach a shot, as long as it's green flags, I guess my boy will be ok. Come to think of it, the best I did in-shore was as a kid growing up chasing Flounder in Jacksonville; I killed 'em nearly every time I went out, but other than that I needed a boat to get where I was going. We had a 13' Orlando Clipper when I was growing up, killed more fish in that boat than the red tide lol. Also, need to get my arse up a little earlier in the morning, and watch the tides; I guess the tail end of the incoming tide, and beginning of the outgoing tides are best(?) Wayne
  3. Thank-you I've never really lit it up inshore (from shore), but the past couple of times I've been out NO ONE has had anything. I agree, there is a lot to be learned, and information to use from the tides and winds, but that's the experience I haven't learned from the area yet. I've heard nothing but good about Hobe Sound, right now I'm only outfitted with pretty light duty stuff, I've got one combo that is acceptable for surf fishing, but I'm not opposed to picking another one up. Thanks again Wayne
  4. Thank-you I know the lake by Walmart, never fished it, but know it; not sure of the green river drive area though; I'll map quest it.
  5. Hey guys, New to the forum, have lived in PSL since 2000, but have mostly just fished the piers, and various shore line spots on the river. I'm looking to take my boy out tomorrow for some fresh water fishing - we are boat less, and wondering what ponds / lakes / etc. are easily accessible by land, that we can catch a variety of fish. Wouldn't mind some salt water action either, but he's still a little small for wading, and I'm getting a little bummed out with the crowded pier fishing. Any suggestions for me to check out would be greatly appreciated. Wayne
