  1. I really like the Cavitron, but the Warrior Warpath is an awesome buzz bait, I would look into it if you guys are looking to try a new one. The Warrior can be fished more slowly, and has a clacker. I just figured with white the less noisy and somewhat "faster" one would not be a bad idea.
  2. I am thinking about getting either a Warrior or Cavitron white buzz bait. Any input on one of these or the other? Would you want more or less noise for a white/clear water buzz bait? I have one of each of them in black and both work well. Also anyone have a good recommendation on a double buzz bait. Color for a close to all around one for Michigan waters?
  3. I got a few Pointer 78SPs and a couple small SK jigs that were ~.90 each
  4. I just got some 30lb power pro and 15lb red label for leaders Hope this works.
  5. I have never used mono on a bait casting reel! I think I might just use fluoro as a leader. What knot? Can I use 15lb fluoro and 65lb braid? That line is not something I will buy again, I can make it fray with a finger nail, two or three passes and it breaks
  6. I have been wanting to try some, I have only fished braid in the past. Got a spool of Spiderwire EZ fluoro and filled a spool as usual. Left my reel setup as usual, made a cast and got a nasty backlash, I was unable to get it out. Upon some inspection I noticed that this line looks to be fraying all over, I could rub my finger nail on it and see it fray more. I had treated it with L&L as everyone suggests. There has to be a better line out there, I hardly ever backlash with braid.
  7. For that weight it seems the TP would be a better choice. I might wind up getting a TP in the future, we'll see how I like my BB1 Pro.
  8. Hows the brake adjusting? Fairly simple?
  9. I use a medium 7'0" Ugly Stik GX2 and a Quantum Fire 30 reel for my "always in the car just in case I want to fish" setup. I like the rod a lot for the money, not a huge fan on the reel, but it works. I run 15lb spiderwire invisibraid on it just fine.
  10. I went to order my tournament pro and noticed the BB1 Pro is the same price. Anyone have used both? Input? This will be a 7.1:1 ratio used for general purpose Jigs, frogs, topwaters
  11. It was between the BB1 pro or the TP. only 10 dollars difference. The TO seems more multiple use friendly
  12. It will be going on an all purpose setup that will see too water lures, jigs, and occasionally a frog
  13. I decided on the 7.1:1 LH tournament pro. It has everything I am looking for, weighs next to nothing, and can be had for $150 with the awesome carbon fiber handle.
  14. Maybe I'll just stick with an LFS. I have a gift card to TW that I was going to put towards a BB1.
  15. How does everyone like the brakes on it vs the magnetic brakes on a speed spool? I have wanted to get a 7.1:1 reel for a while. I really like the brakes on my Lews LFS reels, not sure if I will like them on the BB1 Opinions please!
  16. I really like my Powell Diesel 723 for this. Great all around rod, can be had for about 50 dollars as well. 7'2" MH extra fast
  17. Hi, I wanted to hear from people that have actually used either of these or both preferably! I am torn between getting the Boca ABEC 5 or Orange ABEC 7. For the price of the 7s I can do 5s in two reels. Are they really worth it?
  18. I will have to give it a try! I am getting anxious to get out on the water! Too bad it's frozen now! As a side note, what knot do you guys use to tie on the frogs? Loop or double palomar?
  19. Alright, I just don't fish them enough to justify ~$100 on a frog rod, also don't want to have to carry another rod around with me when I go fishing! Three or four is enough for me!
  20. I have a couple hollow body frogs I am looking forward to throwing this season, right now I have two bait cast combos they are Powell Diesel 723 7'2" MH Ex-Fast Lews LFS 6.8:1 Diawa Cielo 3DX 7'1" MH Fast Lews LFS 6.8:1 I like to use 40-50 lb braid on both for almost everything. I don't typically fish any really bad vegetation, usually just some lily pads Would either be decent to throw a hollow body on occasionally?
  21. I ordered the powell 723, seems like a good all around rod. I might get a 7' or 7'3" micro magic next. Unsure what one
  22. I may just get one of each, but I was trying to decide on which ones. I think I might go with the 7' MH/F Ghost and the 7'2" Diesel
  23. As far as these rods go how do they compare. The duckett is twice the money, but is it worth it?
  24. I just got one of the brand new for $15, figured it was worth it. What should I use it for? Would it be good for frogging or using jigs in weedy areas? It seems very heavy duty, claims 20-50lb line and lures .5 to 1.5 oz
  25. They have the black max on a vengeance rod for 79.99 at my local Dicks. They also come with a 20 dollar mail in rebate. So 60 isn't bad. And that rods a bit better than the black max one.
