  1. One set up and you don’t want to mess with leaders ....I’m voting 12lb Yo Zuri Hybrid...will get everything done for you just fine. Just make sure you hit it with KVD line and lure conditioner night before and you’re good to go
  2. Thoughts on Sabine coming up? Some buddies and I just started a group. Thinking about throwing Chapman in bucket A. New to fantasy fishing, need some advice.
  3. Shimano evair shoes....been wearing them for a year now, great in the boat, comfortable to walk around in. Quick drying. They run big go 1 size down from your normal shoe. Check them out
  4. I fish a zoom ole monster in shallow grass/structure with a 1/4 or 1/8 once bullet weight pegged. Fish it like hopping a jig, finess it up and let it drop and sit for a bit and repeat. All my 4 plus lb bass have come from this technique this summer.
  5. X2...great jigs, great service
  6. i just ordered 2 packs through Amazon...5" purple weenies
  7. For me; yo zuri 6lb...problem solved
  8. Yes, I just put 6lb Yo Zuri on my NASCI 3000. Line diameter is .010 which is the same as most other brands in 8-10 lb test
  9. I have a Revo SX, I prefer the Lews line over the revo. I'd spend $40 more and get a tournament pro
  10. Yes sir, I've been using #12 for two years now, It's completly eliminated fluorocarbon as a main line for me. Only other line I use on baitcasters is Big game for top water/treble hook presentations. Yo Zuri for all bottom contact stuff
  11. I second that; I've heard it called a double San Diego jam knot...whatever, it works! I use it for everything and every type of line with the exception on drop shoting with a palomar.
  12. I've recently discovered that fishing at night after a hot sunny day is my best summer strategy. You've just gotta give up up a little sleep. Been doing the best from 11:00pm-1:00am. Black/blue spinner bait with big Colorado blade
  13. Early spring/cold water: suspending jerkbait Pre spawn: jigs, square bills Spawn: jigs, drop shot Post spawn: jigs, big t rigged worms summer/hot water: spooks early, drop shot during day and my most productive fishing is at night with a black/blue spinner bait with big Colorado blade
  14. My best night fishing bait has been a strike king midnight Magic spinnerbait, it's 7/16oz black/blue with a single short arm Colorado blade I fish with a trailer hook.
  15. In addition to what you're throwing, I'd mix in a jerk bait as well
  16. One thing I'll add to the above information...if my drop shot hook with nosed hooked worm is grabbing weeds, I'll use a light wire 1/0 EWG hook and Texas rig a trick worm. Makes it weedless and I've still get good hook sets
  17. Yep on the line watch...I use braid on a medium stick...line jumps I reel slack to feel pressure and usually see bass swimming with it then set hook
  18. 1. Jig w/rage craw 2. Spook 3. Swim jig w/rage menace 4. Drop shot w/trick worm 5. Square bill
  19. Outstanding! I have 3 little girls too, twin 4 yr olds and 7..we put on wax worms and wack the bluegills in our backyard pond for about 20 min...there new thing is holding the fish and throwing em back. I bought them little nets to get the bluegill and when I get them in my boat they like using the big net to get bass I catch. Love seeing kids fishing and off video games/TV!
  20. Not far from you papajoe, I am north of Bourbonnais. I was thinking of tossing some top water as well, based on your report I'll give it a shot. Never really tried top water this time of year?
  21. X2...got one for my 13yr old son to learn on, super user friendly and performs very well...I've recommended it to a number of people starting out
  22. That's some extreme fishing! Hope you at least caught a few
  23. Northeastern IL, water temp 56...scraped out 8 bass today between 14-16in. on a square bill....happy about it considering cold front. Anyone else do any good this weekend and what are you throwing?
