  1. Got it…that makes sense. Appreciate it!
  2. I have an older MotorGuide Brute 756 with a machette prop. Squeaking noise and won’t pull on low speeds. Figured I’d start by taking the prop off but when I took the nut off, I couldn’t get it the budge. Any ideas? Thanks!
  3. Arashi cover pop is my go to
  4. I picked up some Basix for my jig rod based on the good reviews and price. Long story short I lost 3 jigs on hook sets yesterday, all knot slipping. I tie the fluorocarbon knot a lot of people use, not sure the name, Swindle, Zona and others have videos on it. NEVER had an issue with it. I’ll give you I could’ve tied 1 bad knot but not 3. Back to Abrazx for bottom contact and Invizx.
  5. Got ya…any insight on the SV vs the SV103? Thanks.
  6. Looking to put a new reel on my Dobyns KD 610-4 CB to use for jerkbaits and small crank baits. Wanting to try a Daiwa ..looking at the Tatula SV or SV 103? I’m a bit apprehensive with the SV system, I’ve spent a lot of time educating my thumb and according to some reviews you don’t need it with the SV. Should I go with a regular Tatula 100 or 150? Any feedback would be appreciated! Thanks!
  7. I own both rods…my opinion it’s not even close, Victory is a far better rod. Had some good use out of the E6X but replaced it with a Zodias which is also a better rod in my opinion.
  8. Never an issue with my Lews Tournament Pro...and I’ve fished the heck out of it. Recently purchased another one, hopefully the newer model is as good to me as well.
  9. Yes sir, I have a 7ft MH Fast that I use primarily for jigs and T rigs...love it, zero complaints.
  10. Appreciate the feedback guys....took a look at that Kaden 735 CB...like the specs on it for what I need...how does it compare to the Champion line?
  11. Was not aware they are composite...good to know and I’ll think about the Kaden as well but think I’m set on a Champ. Appreciate that Scott! I’m going to do some more research and may PM you! Got some time, we still have ice!
  12. Looking at the Champion XP series. Uses would be mid depth cranking and 1/2 oz bladed jigs + trailer , 1/2-3/4 oz lipless. Looking at the 705 CB GLASS, 705 CBMF GLASS, 735/736 CB GLASS ....or just go with graphite 705/706 CB ??? Actions are throwing me off, difference between a FAST GLASS and MF graphite for example. I’ve never used glass before and I also have a FR 733 for lighter trebles. Any advice would be appreciated!! Thanks guys!
  13. Got ya...curious as to what reel and line you use for throwing spooks and lipless on it ?
  14. That’s what I was thinking too....I think he was mainly recommending for the cranks. So, use it for those treble hook applications and get a 4 power for bladed jigs. Got it.
  15. I was looking for a rod to throw medium diving cranks and bladed jigs under $200...called the shop at Dobyns and they recommended a Fury 733c so I bought one. Also need to purchase a rod for square bills/jerkbaits. Anyone have any thoughts on the FR 733c and what other rod would be a good purchase? Haven’t had a chance to use it yet ...need some water time but I’m in Illinois and it’s gonna be awhile longer. Thanks in advance guys.
  16. I was looking at the Tournament Pro on the Sportsman's Outfitters sales. A lot of reels/ratios are sold out. There is a BB 1 in like a 6.4:1 available. (Left handed)
  17. Wanting to purchase a Tournament Pro for medium divers /chatterbaits maybe some square bill work. The 2 ratios offered are 6.8:1 and 7.5:1. I’m finding mixed advice when researching....maybe I’m overthinking? Thank you in advance for feedback!
  18. 10 4....thank you!
  19. I’m picking up what you’re putting down...Thsnks jj
  20. Hey guys, Shopping around for a new crankbait rod, mid/deep. Noticed Powell rods are 50% off currently, anyone have any experience with them and how they compare? Looking at the Endurance 755CB Glass Med/Hvy Mod-Fast. Or should I look elsewhere?? Thanks!
  21. Exactly...the real answer to your problem is to throw a 1/4oz lipless on heavier gear...I use a med/heavy baitcaster with 15lb big game
  22. I’ve done it a few times with heavier lures using an overhead cast...a lot of torque on an overhead cast when you start to come forward. I’d say use a roll cast off to the side may help you if you’re using 1/4 oz bait and just 6lb line
  23. I’m with Harold...skipping can get messy!
