    NED Rig

Been hearing about the NED rig for a while now and always felt that it was just another gimmick. Took it out to a pond that is extremely pressured yesterday and caught 7 LMB in an hour or so. This thing rippppsssssssssss.
  2. Probably the same reason I don't find walking through Nordstroms for 2 hours fun. Now that to me is really something boring haha.
  3. Until now I though thought that people saying "shishamo" were just trolling using a different spelling of "shimano". Finally just looked it up and ... hahahahaha.
  4. Just tell her you're ripping lips so hard you're getting an arm work out.
  5. Once I became proficient at tying knots I never really saw the need for them. Just another thing to get snagged with.
  6. I know for a fact that a lot of smaller bait companies ship their bulk soft plastics in similar bags. Should not be a problem.
  7. I only have experience with the Mojo bass rods in M power but I would probably say a 734 would fit that. It definitely has more back bone than a M power Mojo bass while still having a castable tip.
  8. Yea you should be able to throw quite heavy lures on a low profile baitcaster but you could run into line capacity issues if you're really chucking them in deep water. I wouldn't think that the gears of a reel would run into any issues when casting because they aren't really being used, more so if you were constantly fighting bigger-than-bass sized fish.
  9. I personally use the Champion 703 for throwing senkos most of the time along with some lighter t-rigs and it seems to work well for me. I've never tried throwing a senko on my 734, but I feel like if you're throwing them weightless the tip might not load up enough, not 100% though. Mostly use the 734 for t-rigs and some jig fishing.
  10. Congrats man, we were all rooting for you! Now it's time to go out there and hunt for that lunker haha.
  11. Hahahaha point made...
  12. Possibly even try a swim jig retrieved just above the grass line.
  13. I'm a bank fisherman and personally carry three baitcasting setups. At least where I live I find them useful because of the ease of pitching baits and the high drag numbers help with pulling fish through grass and out of cover.
  14. I agree with most of what other people are saying but honestly it could just be a bass. Senkos are so soft that even with fishing wacky rigs with o-rings you can still sometimes only get 1 fish per bait.
  15. I am solely a bank fisherman but I really only own and carry three rods. First being a Champion 703 with usually some type of weightless plastic. The second being a Champion 734 with a texas rig. And lastly being a Champion 735 with a frog or heavy texas rig with beaver style bait for fishing isolated brush and grass.

    Senkos

I switched from using senkos to yum dingers. For me they perform just about the same at half the cost.
  17. Personally I use the Gamakatsu octopus hook in either a 1/0 or 2/0. Those seem to work quite well for me. Although I haven't used that specific owner hook, I can speak from experience in saying that they make fantastic tackle.
  18. I don't think it would cause a problem, I've had my rods and tackle sitting in the back of my SUV for quite some time now.
  19. In terms of breaking rods it really has to do with the angle in which the weight is pulling down from. Anyways, glad you could make the best of it.
  20. Sheesh I haven't heard of people using this lb test of line for anything other than heavy duty offshore fishing...
  21. The thinner line should help with the natural fall of a weightless bait along with the ease of being able to tell whether or not your bait has been taken. Cheers and good luck.
  22. I would guess that it has something to do with the feeding patterns of the fish. Perhaps the fact that the fish are eating less while guarding the beds. Whereas before they spawn they would be eating a lot wearing their teeth down.
  23. During this time of the year not all that often, however, the same can't be said for the colder months...
  24. You could try looking on Quantum's website to see if they have a more advanced schematic available.
  25. People who are saying their reel has too much flex probably either are using older reels or cheaper ones. A decent reel (maybe $70+) with a graphite frame really should not have much noticeable flex under any bass fishing application. The flex is probably not coming from the cage housing the spool but rather the portion that connects to the reel seat. Personally hold the reel itself and wrap my fingers under the blank instead of just holding the handle. This could have some effect on the observed flex.
