My Partner that day Doug Webster ended up catching 3 bronze beauties a 5.5 lbs a 6.3 lbs. and a 7.1 lbs on 5 drifts down a point. I was busy netting his fish and looked up and my float was gone ran to the front of the boat and it was on. that was the only one I caught. But I'm not complaining. 1/16 oz. hair and maylar jig 22' under a clip on egg shaped float 9 1/2' custom rod 8 lb Bagleys silver thread line

  15. I have been using Maui Jims for years. I have several pairs of them Banyans is the name of the style I like the most, They are light weight and have good clarity, But I recently tried a pair of Costa Del Mar and they blow the Maui Jims away take a look at the Costa before you buy the Maui Jims. The Costas have great clarity and just seems to brighten up everything and it is unbelievable how deep I can see into the water they beat the Maui's by a good foot foot and a half. When you get ready to make your purchase ask to take them outside the store to compare the two brands together in the sun. The style of Costas I bought are the Cayan AY 50. I hope this helps
  16. I knew the Guy who started strike king. I went to school with him, Charlie Spence great man he died not too long ago at a cutting horse competition. He won his event and then at the start of the second round he had a massive heart attack. Huge loss to the human race.
  17. Black floating Fliptail Lizard
  18. Try a black fliptail floating lizard, I lived in an apartment complex years ago and it had a lake that looked like what you show. I had tried everything with little success I would catch a nice one about every other trip until I tried the lizard. throw it on the bank and drag it in and hang on !!! The old fliptails would float a 5/0 hook but the new ones I just got will only do a 3/0 but that should still do the trick. I also use to catch some huge bullfrogs in the same lake on the same bait, first time I did that I didn't know what I had on the end of the line LOL but they sure tasted good. www.FLIPTAIL-LURES.COM 501-745-6145 GOOD LUCK
  19. I did my own with parts from Hedgehog in Japan Great company they have great instructions with their products. Shipping was super fast I did 2 Tatula's a type r and a 100hs. Installed air bearing on each and level wind bearings, handle bearings etc... I also got the red dress up parts the screws and red cork handles. I increased the 8-1 gears with a Titanium set I made to 9.2-1 its fly's great buzz baits reel. I increased the gear ratio on the 7-1 to 8.5-1 with a set of titanium gears that I made. I Think the total cost for all the parts for both reels was somewhere around $260. www.Hedegehog-studio.co.jp

  21. Sure they do haven't you ever heard the expression "fine as frog hair"
  22. Another great come back bait is the Poes cedar ACE IN THE HOLE the make 2 size a 3'' and 5'' depending on how they measure I use the smaller ones and tune the blades to make them burp. Red and Black HANG ON

  24. I have 8 Duckett rods in spinning and casting and I have used just about every rod brand on the market in the past 40 plus years that I have fished, and I absolutely love these I am using the Micro Magic style they have 3 levels of rod from $99-$199. The Micro Magic run $149-$169. The spinning rod has a Diawa Steez ex3012h reel and I am using D.A.M.Tectan Premium Plus mono in 13.9 lbs size. This is the best Mono I have ever used. You should give it a try its hard to find sometimes but worth the effort. I got the last spools I bought on Ebay. Hope this helps
  25. I am not a fan of fluorocarbon, I've tried just about every brand of floro out there and it has too much memory for my taste. The best mono line I have every used is the German brand D-A-M Tectan premium plus sometimes its had to find but worth the effort. I think they are replacing it with a new improved version called superior. if you want to try a great line at a good price pick up a spool I found the last spool I bought on Ebay.
