  1. I take a thin sharp knife place it between its eyes and slam on the knife sending to kill the brain while also cutting the spine. Instant death if done right, you get a final twitch if your off though.
  2. I was torn on this. I would say good choices would be daredevil spoons or maybe wordens rooster tails. Both are pretty cheap and catch all kinds of fish.
  3. I think I'm gonna just take a 5 gallon bucket put a wire mesh top over its and tie to sit in the water of my kayak, any better ideas?
  4. A rope tied to a rather large pug. No, it's actually a 08 town and country, all I have are kayaks and my jetta doesn't have a rack yet. I do not endorse making your pug pull a boat, no pugs were harmed in the making of this post.
  5. Yeah more details needed. Look what a comparable boat goes for on capitalist.
  6. I have a large 3 person intex raft. It has oar locks, rod holder's, even a available motor mount. My concern is will it pop too easily? I know if I hook it hard it's gonna pop but what if my hook just brushes it? I've talked to another guy today using the same raft. He said he's had no problems and he said he fished drunk with it. Stupid idea safety wise but this means he must have had a few accidents. What do you all think, try it or not?
  7. Went into a local convience store for bait. I noticed they were selling hooks and various lures under the fj niel/ dolphin brand. I bought the hooks because I needed them and they were the cheapest hooks I have ever seen, 79 cents for a six pack. Thing is these hooks were some of the best I've used as good or better than eagle claw. I noticed the lures were cheap too. They had spoons and two kinds of inline spinners. Anybody had luck with this brand. .
  8. Can't snag fish in Massachusetts, probably should have mentioned that. Thanks anyway
  9. I'm finding carp in some local ponds, not the invasive asian ones but koi fish released by there owners. I would estimate them to be about 15 to 20 pounds. I need specific info on how to catch them, I know I need corn or boillies, I know I need carp/hair rigs. I'm looking for specifics like hook size in relation to fish size, amount of bait on the hair rig, will the fish feel wieght on the line, how do they bite, what are there most important senses. Now I don't need a whole biologists report but I need specifics. Please help me I don't want these fish to spread. By the way I here the carp get big in the UK, I'll accept advice from anywhere, in fact I find that when fisherman of different nations prefer totally different tactics for the same fish it is very interesting.
  10. Hey there both top water, and the two most popular top water lures. Not counting frogs of course.
  11. I have always preferred hula poppers. They work great for me, jitterbugs not so much.
  12. First of all, will it catch fish well not good. Anyway it should work wait till dusk and drop it off the Lilly pads. You will kill them.
  13. 16 but they say I'm wise beyond my years.
  14. This may seem odd but I would have to say inline spinners. Plastics would be a close second.
  15. Yeah like you said its like the boogeyman in the closet.Light drag really shouldn't effect your hook sets that significantly unless the drag is really, really light.lf I were you I would stick to the three quarters rule. Your drag should be set at three quarters the strength of your line. If you still have problems get sharper hooks, I recommend eagle claw.
  16. Let's get a conversation going I'm bored. I like those cool summer evenings, no humidity, no cloud cover. You all?
  17. I have wire rigs "think of a beatle spin with no grub". I was thinking of using different trailers to replace what would usually be a curly tailed grub. I was thinking of using 6" curly tail worms or 3" plastic shiners. Thus will be primarily a bass lure, what do you all think?
  18. First for fresh then your favorite saltwater fish for the table. I enjoy catfish and for saltwater haddock. I do prefer shellfish and squid better than fiendish though.
  19. I like chain pickeral, by the way rock bass doesn't count as bass. There more like panfish.
  20. Last year about May I was at heritage park SPRINGFIELD MA in porter lake. The bluegills were crazy. Caught them on every cast, they fought hard for there size and were good size too. Though there not strong, fast, or smart. I've blue gills because they were the first species I caught as a little kid. Also what other fish bites a bare hook, except maybe pumpkin seeds.
  21. Gulf captain hit the nail on the head. I would however would like to add to it. As far as when to use each I find I really prefer my broadcaster in two situations, when it's cold and I have to jig of the bottom "better control with a broadcaster", or when it's hot as an oven and I'm throwing big poppers, keyword big. This is once again due to the superior control.
  22. I've always used worms or grub type plastics. Do creature baits actually work? If so how do you use it.
  23. If you could have only one. Not type or brand, but one color, size, scent, brand, shape. I really had to think on this one. After I posted this I went out bought more plastics "Dicks had a sale" . I am caught between a big bite baits scented creature bait or a 6 inch curly tailed worm from zoom also scented.
  24. Hula popper, flat fish lure "probably in Orange", daredevil spoon "red and white", purple and white rooster tail "probably 1/8 oz.
  25. Follow me here. I; broke a rod, lost 10 or twelve bucks of equipment, bruised myself up badly and ruined some clothes. This was all in one day.
