  1. Wow, that's a panfish I couldn't fit In a pan.
  2. That's what it's all about. Nothing beats the satisfaction of knowing that you have just shared the secret of year round fun for all ages.
  3. I call b.s. on this. I have never caught nor knew anybody who has caught that many bass in that amount of time. What do you think we are, stupid?
  4. I would say my personal best is probably a little under a half pound. I caught it on night crawlers in a small lake. World record sunfish is 5 pounds 12oz I belief, caught in Mexico. Not a bluegill but close. Anyway what are your best bluegills and what we're you using?
  5. We forgive you.
  6. I couldn't tell you specifics, but it's some kind of torpedo lure. By torpedo I don't mean brand but type. When you say hard to find, the brand/model. I have no clue. Torpedo lures in general, no but they aren't the most common lure. If this is all already apparent to you I apologize. If not hope that helps.
  7. Dude, I literally just wrote a post entitled save money on plastics a few under this post.
  8. I dint know that the turtles will affect the bass bite. Thanks for the info.
  9. How do you guys handle catching snapping turtles? When I use the occasional worm I will usually catch a big snapping turtle. I find them easy to unhook and I'll put a stick in its mouth and let it go. Do any of you actually target turtles? I don't.
  10. Why don't I live in Louisville?!
  11. All the time I here complaints about 5,6 ,7 or 8 dollars for a bag of plastics. Me I usually buy big bite plastics. They work good, come in all colors, shapes, and sizes, and they are $1.50 at dicks. I use expensive senkos and such when the fish are picky or when im trying to out fish my friends, but when the bite is on or I'm just casually fishing by myself I throw out the cheap stuff. It works good enough for most fishing and I can go through a whole bag and not even care. They are scented by the way. I recommend there creature bait in dark red for the best results, but all are good.
  12. Get a rapalla floating minnow in either original gray or that orange green stripe pattern. That should catch all kinds of bass. If you want a lure that will catch fish in general, a inline spinner should do it. Any color should work, expirament.
  13. That's a good point. There are exceptions to that rule though, just today I was at a small resevoir and the water was very clear but it still had tons of plant, insect life for the bait fish.
  14. I yank and pray. Or depending on the lure I get wet. If I loose a cheap worm on a hook I don't care that much. If I get $12 diver stuck, you better believe I'm gettin it. The worst part is when you dive in and you look to your left and a snapping turtles diving for your pink wiggling toes.
  15. Anybody who says they don't do this is a lair. Every time I get a new rod or reel, I test in my yard. Just so I can get a feel for my equipment before it is truly tested.
  16. What do you prefer clear water like what you might find in a resevoir or murky, stained water like a small pond? I prefer clear water as it allows flashy lures to be most effective and I use a lot of flashy lures. How ever I think clear water does have a disadvantage. It allows the fish to better see your line and see you if you are fishing off the shore.
  17. Thanks guys.I think I'll buy some of that gulp stuff. I'm a bass guy but when you fish all day and catch nothing, I figure it's best to try for some panfish. Little fish is better than no fish.
  18. Will panfish or maybe even bass hit hooks with that power bait dough that comes in a jar? I never had luck with the trout, now I think I'll get another jar and try it on the panfish or maybe even bass. Any thoughts?
  19. I hate auto correct, I meant the smell of the preservatives repells fish. Not repellent fish.
  20. Will any fish besides trout take salmon eggs in the jar? I never had luck, but maybe you all did.
  21. Are preserved shiners in the jar effective at catching a variety of fish? If so, what fish and how. My dad always told me to never use them as the smell of the preservatives repellant fish.
  22. Throw a tiny hook with a tiny worm. Ponds are most likely to have panfish which love this set up.
  23. No, but my sister did and she doesn't fish.
  24. Thanks for the advice but I was looking for a specific lure. Not just a type of lure like a jig. Also, how would a lipless crankbait be effective under the ice?
  25. What lure is good for both open water in late spring to late fall and ice on in early winter to early spring. Is there really a do it all lure I have not yet discovered? Sorry but if you live south of the mason Dixon line I doubt you can help me. Try if you want though.
