  1. I already own 4 Powell rods but I'm looking to get a deep cranking stick, the Powell endurance glass/composite is the right action at 7'5 mod-hvy but I wasn't looking to spend 200$,the max was more in my price range but the biggest cranking stick they had was 7'0 med-hvy and it's glass/composite as well, the max series has a swimbait rod that's 7'6 mod-hvy and suggests crankbaits but it's not glass composite, which one would you pick? I would be throwing 8-20 ft divers on it and traps form time to time on shell bars. Thanks
  2. It won't be long till there fishing it in California I can tell you that!
  3. Hahahhahaah I just saw that, my mistake. I don't think the have a 50/0 hook yet to handle my ten foot worm but the will one day
  4. I'll give you that I suck at typing and probably have 10000 errors
  5. Bud I'll i said was that I wasn't impressed with there products and wondered if anyone else shared the same problems, is that such a terrible thing?
  6. I wasn't aware of that but the dirty jigs have more flare on the pause I've both in the water and played around with them and it could be just a subtle difference in the way there out together
  7. Success and the product working is not the same thing if a crankbait runs side ways I'm I still expected to put a limit in the in the boat?
  8. Will first off I don't want anything from strike king even if it's free I'm telling my experiences with the company and wondering if anyone else has the same problems
  9. So what makes strike king baits better that's my question to you all
  10. The rage tail line doesn't impress me at all, when I buzz frogs it's heavier cover amd the zoom horny toads come threwcover better then the rage toads plus there cheaper, when I use swim baits I usually buzz them in pads or hydrilla amd the gambler EZ simmer buzzes better,is cheaper and has better colors, zoom lizards have better colors, float better and are cheaper then rage tail lizards, why use the rage tail chunk when flipping jigs when you can use a net bait paca chunk and get a massive color selection and save money, and lthe zoom ol monster blows the recon worm out of the water with lower price, better colors and better action. So what's sooo amazing about the rage tail line when I can save money and get better products? On top of that I don't have a rod lockers that smell like a coffe shop. And as far as Sqaurebills go I think I used a a few brands, let me name a few like strike king, storm, lucky craft,x caliber, bass pro shops,SPRO,6th sense and river 2 sea and as far as coming threw cover like lay downs/brush piles and over all performance BPS and strike king were the worst and the best we're storm, lucky craft and SPRO.
  11. I can see you haven't thrown one of the new storm Arashi sqaurebills or a lucky craft skeet Reese Sqaurebill, trust me I used strike king Sqaurebills and they put half as many fish in the boat didn't run true and they didn't come through cover as easy.
  12. I respect you remark but what turns me off of strike king is that there sqaurebills don't come through cover good at all, there XD Crankbaits don't run true and with the plastics other company's make better products like a company like zoom or gambler because that's all they basically do is plastics. But confidence is the key really and if that's what you have confidence with and catch fish doing it I can't argue with you
  13. Hahaha i mean it's just my personal experience. I just think there are better alternatives out there
  14. Get the lews tournemnt pro, it's the same price. I would go with 7.1.1 and 17 floro, that's a perfect set up for worms anywhere from 6.5' like the trick worm to 10.5' like the ol monster plus with the heavier line you can pitch up to 3/8 oz jigs. I actually use 20 lb floro in my worm rod but I fish big worms in hevay brush piles and grass, 17 is your best bet though.
  15. I'm kinda afraid to start this topic because I may get bashed, I know I'm not any pro and I know I haven't been fishing for 30+ years but I'm sharing my two sense. In my personal opinion I think strike king makes cheap crap that's over priced and a waste of money. I know allot of y'all probably swear by strike king stuff and I've used there XD Crankbaits, sqaurebills, lipless crankbaits, jigs, spinnerbaits, plastics, jerk baits and top waters before and I've been less than impressed. Let me start my rant with this, if you were to buy 10 strike king XD crank baits I bet you at least 5 of them will run side ways until tuned when you can just get a norman dd22 or dd14 for half the price and they run true out of the box ,there sqaurebills don't come threw cover easy at all,not nearly as easy as the new storm Arashi, the lip less crankbaits they make are pretty good but X Caliber and SPRO blow them out of the water, there jig skirts don't have nearly as much action as a Dirty Jig,there spinnerbaits are pretty good I'll give them that I haven't had problems with mine but there are company's that do it better for cheaper, there top water popers are impressive but I still prefer lake fork tackle and storm popers, and there walking baits aren't as good as the spook but there more expensive, and lastly the plastics.......I don't get why people send tons of money on rage tail products when other company's do it wayy better. And the reason I'm saying what I use in its place is to give you an ideas of what I'm using instead. I just really think they don't make quality lures and I was wondering if anyone agreed with me
  16. I only eat pond bass in the 1-3 lb range I don't eat bass out of lakes or rivers
  17. I think it's funny at Walmart how if you manage to dig trough all the crap every once in a blue moon you strike gold but most of the time that doesn't happen and you find your self at tackle warehouse, bps or the locals store
  18. Flipping jigs in pads can be deadly and catch monster bass, a lot of people don't think about flipping pads but trust me it works, my tournament partner caught a 9 pounder flipping a black n blue jig into pads
  19. Please DM me if any one knows about starting a high school team in Florida to fish in the BASS high school series. Just fished a state champinship with a different school but I want to start one at my school to fish opens plus the championship. Let me know
  20. It's lake octhacceee
  21. Carolina rig deeper structure(7-15ft) now that it's summer so of those bigger bass might be hanging around rock piles or brush piles out a little deeper, I doubt there are any ledges in the lake sense it's so small but if it has step drop off its possible
  22. This weekend I'm fishing in a lake in Valdosta that's sprig feed,I think it's around 1000 acres, so it's a small lake but it's completely lined with crypress trees, in the sticks it's about 5-8 around the edge and then once you move closer to shore its 3-5 feet mainly. The lake is coco brown tool and water temp this time of the year is low 80s. I will be fishing in the early morning in 5 feet of water in the sticks. Any suggestions on lures or baits to throw?
  23. No sense in spending the extra cash for floro unless your fishing ultra clear water. Mono is perfect and I suggest 17lb Sufix elite clear mono. Very strong and knots seat very well with it.
  24. Lews makes the best reels on the market period. Just throwing that out there. It makes the abu's feel like Zebco 33
  25. The Powell inferno is a great rod. Not your typical 130$ rod, trust me you won't regret it. Amd at bass tackle depot right now there only 100$. Very light and sensitive and the warranty is awesome. The 7 ft med hvy is amazing for t rigs and the 6'10 med is a good Sqaurebill rod. But really look at the inferno you won't regret it.
