  1. And to make this subject kinda fishing related, once I get my job, I'm planning to buy a higher end baitcast setup since I screwed up my Accurist. Lol
  2. Thanks for the kind words all! I am hoping everything will work out the way I want. I think once I get some meds for my anxiety and depression I'll be able to do the things I need to do to get to where I want to be. The anxiety holds me back a lot. That's the main reason I'm 20 and still don't have a job or license or anything. The main reason I'm doing this stuff is for my girlfriend, but I'm also doing it for myself. I'm ready to get my life started. I'll keep you guys updated on how things are going.
  3. Thanks bud. It has taken me a long time to get help. I just felt it was time to get some. I'll definitely need the luck.
  4. Well, I'm working on my GED. All I have to do is take the practice test to make sure I'm ready for it and then I can take the tests. Also went to the doctor for my depression/anxiety and suicidal thoughts. Having to attend therapy, which I'm not happy about. I'm fixing to get prescribed meds for my depression, and possibly separate meds for anxiety. Planning to attend AGI courses (American Gunsmithing Institute). I still need to work on my license and a job, but I'm pretty stressed out right now already. Sorry for the pointless topic, just figured some of you may be interested.
  5. Following. I'm curious about upgrades and how beneficial they may be.
  6. I didn't read the whole comment section, but I seen that you went ahead and put money down on the build. If you like it, good, if not, then take it as a lesson learned. If it were me, I'd have to go with 7.62 or .300 Blackout with the gas piston system. More reliable and don't have to clean it as much if you're lazy (which I clean my guns immediately after shooting them). I don't like anything under .30 caliber unless it's a magnum round. I just like having the extra stopping power and I'm a fan of more recoil (don't ask why, because I don't know). Anyways, how you like your rifle. They are fun. I'm going to be taking AGI courses to try to become a gunsmith.
  7. I don't believe I've ever caught a bass off of a crankbaits, so I guess I don't have a favorite color. I only use one about once or twice a year.
  8. Depends on your application.
  9. I've never done one of these either...
  10. It had 14 on it. Not my reel so I'm not buying lighter line for a reel when he may just take it right back off. It seemed to do fine with the 14 pound line though. Casted a good ways and seemed to have no problems.
  11. Once I get my own spinning setup I'll probably go with braid or a better mono. For now though, o don't want to mess with the setup too much since it isn't mine. I did change the line to 12 pound Berkley Big Game earlier because that's basically all I've used since I've been fishing.
  12. Throw on a weightless lizard and fish it on the surface. May just be familiar enough for them to get it.
  13. Maybe some tape to create a smoother surface? Not sure how well it'd work, but worth a shot.
  14. It's my dad's setup and he has 14 pound red Cajun Line.
  15. Always wanted to get into working out to help with my motocross and just to be healthier, but between being lazy and worried about embarrassing myself I never got into it. The most I done was pullups, situps, and pushups in my house.
  16. Don't like it, but I'm thinking about trying it again with some line treatment just to give it a fair chance to impress me.
  17. I need some help. It may be a stupid question, but how do you set the hook with spinning tackle? I've never really used it and here lately I've become more fond of spinning tackle than baitcasters. The only problem is, when I try to set the hook the line ends up behind my head or it feels like the rod rolls or something. I try to set overhead because that's the way I've always set the hook. Should I try setting to the side or am I not reeling enough slack in or should I just stick to baitcasting tackle?
  18. I believe wetting the line is more of a precaution for people. I never do it when I tie knots and very very rarely do my knots give. For example, when I get caught on a rock or something underwater (which happens a lot for me), the line tends to break 90% of the time instead of my knot failing. I used to only tie the improved clinch, but now basically all I tie is the San Diego Jam.
  19. If I were a tournament fisherman, the last thing I'd want is my equipment to malfunction while I'm catching good fish. Buy what you can afford. Just because you buy nice stuff it doesn't make you any better, but it also won't hurt. Especially when you feel confident in your equipment and feel that maybe you're more accurate with it or can cast further, feel bites better, etc.
  20. I couldn't even afford a combo $300 less than my dream combo...
  21. Slipknot, Avenged Sevenfold, Three Days Grace, Breaking Benjamin, Theory Of A Deadman, Suicide Silence.
  22. I stand by 12 pound Berkley Big Game.
  23. Not to mention all the techniques he came up with. Plus the rods and reels he invented...
  24. True, but it works fine for me and its cheap. Lol
  25. Don't know anything about boat motors, but it sounds like your throttle cable is frayed.
