  2. Hey guys, I wanted to share some bluegrass videos with you all. I play in a bluegrass band with my brother, my former 6th grade English teacher, and our family friend. We started playing back in 2006 as a band, but I picked up the guitar in 6th grade. Our band has now been fortunate enough to play everywhere from Chicago to Nashville to El Salvador. This weekend, we are performing for a festival called Pioneer Days in Marlinton, West Virginia, and we are performing for the National Boy Scout Jamboree on Sunday evening. For more information on our band, click here. Anyway, here are some videos, I hope you all enjoy! This is an unorthodox take on a rock song by Creed called One Last Breath. This is an older traditional song called The Gospel Plow. This song features both the banjo and guitar, called Blackberry Blossom. Finally, here's a song by just my brother, one that almost everyone should recognize - Foggy Mountain Breakdown. Thanks, TF
  3. Sounds good. We are playing Sunday night at the Jambo Gram dinner from I believe 6-8, maybe a little later. Tell them to look us up. Kidd Brothers Bluegrass Band. Would love to play them some music.
  4. I know it's been said already but I recommend fishing deep. There's one pond I fish sometimes and encounter the same problem. Small fish in the shallows, no big ones around.
  5. I'm not sure of the law here in WV, but as Sam said, it all depends on what you consider a pond. Most of the ones we have around my area have bass and bluegill, even the smaller ones, but I don't know of any law that requires them to be stocked with fish.
  6. Those turtles are a nuisance. Having one or two around isn't bad but if there's lots of them then it can't be good for the pond. We've caught a couple of them before and people have taken them and eaten them.
  7. Thanks guys! Good to hear from you Gene. I've been doing good. Just staying busy with work this summer and making some time to fish. Planning to hit the Greenbrier River this weekend for smallmouth and play a couple shows. We are playing an event called Pioneer Days in Pocahontas County, WV on Friday night, and then we are playing for the Boy Scout Jamboree Sunday evening, which is in Beckley. Looking forward to connecting with everyone again!
  8. Welcome aboard!
  9. Thanks! It was 40 lbs. I've been fishing the Kanawha River near my home a lot for flatheads and blues.
  10. Hey guys, I'm not a new member, but I may as well be. I've been inactive on the forum for several years. Unfortunately, school and other projects took away forum time and I wasn't able to be on the board for quite some time. Rest assured, I was still able to fish! In the time period since I stopped posting regularly, I've graduated high school, graduated college at Marshall University with a degree in Economics, and this fall, I'll be starting my first year at West Virginia University College of Law. I wanted to thank the moderators and Glenn for such a fantastic job on the site. The forum and the website design looks fantastic, and I'm just now getting to see the new features and updates. Everything looks terrific! Anyway, I look forward to posting more regularly and seeing everyones's catches. Tight lines, Aaron "TF"
  11. I've never gotten a ticket since I've been driving - granted, I'm only 22 and that's subject to change, but I'm certainly grateful for that streak! This is a great post. Very interested in the responses.
  12. Very glad he is okay! That is a scary story!
  13. Hello all! What does everyone think of the national championship caliber teams this year? Obviously it is way too early to make predictions, but it has been interesting seeing how some of the greats have been doing. Oregon looked terrible against LSU, TCU got hit by Baylor, and my favorite team (WVU) had a moderate win. In Morgantown there is quite a lead up to the big game against LSU in a few weeks. What do you all think about a potential championship team - who is looking good and who's not? Thanks! TF
  14. I love those hats! My brother bought one at Wal-Mart the other day for like $10 or $12 and it is the warmest hat I've ever tried. I need to buy one for myself. The weather here is extremely cold too.
  15. Thank you all. I really appreciate it. I agree Lund, it's something I like doing and will continue to do. Glenn, you're definitely right, that's solid advice. Grey Wolf, I'll try to stick around this time, haha. I want to really go after some more bass in 2011. I focused in on catfish in 2010 and didn't get on the board much, but I look forward to posting some more.
