  1. 8 inch bbz-1, I was using it on lighter tackle (16 lb mono) and cast into the wind got a backlash and it went flying. It was a slow sink model, never saw it again. ;(
  2. Rainbow trout and salmon are #2 and #3 for me.
  3. Walleye. Had it once in nebraska, by far the best tasting freshwater fish I've ever tried.
  4. A few defensive swifties on here... JK guys lol
  5. Have you tried getting a job at a grocery store or something? I know you're only 14 but if you get a permit many stores will hire you.
  6. X2. I'm 15 and I wash service vehicles at a local appliances store on Saturdays and they pay $12-$15 per car. At $5 you might be getting ripped off lol
  7. I can get a G Loomis GLX cranking rod for $370 and a Megabass Orochi XX for $300. Which one would you get? I haven't tried a GLX yet but I'd be curious to see how it stacks up against the XX in terms of sensitivity, balance, etc. Do you think it's worth it for $70 extra?
  8. The hooks are too close on the little John and catch each other and the bill. I switch em out for #4 owner ST-35s and smaller split rings, problem solved
  9. I gotta admit I do like the knobs on the standard met more than the DC/Conquest knobs. Those Septon power grips are just so comfortable.
  10. The DC braking system is the main thing, probably worth the extra $. It is also a different color (looks a little better IMO) and has different knobs, the same open ended type found on the Calcutta conquest. That's about all I know.
  11. I agree. It may be true that a $100 rod will catch fish the same as an $800 rod, but IMHO you'll enjoy fishing more with the expensive rod. And isn't that the point of bass fishing? Enjoyment?
  12. I also like the big and skinny dippers and big ez's as well. Another smaller bait I've had success on are zoom swimmin' flukes. And I really like the owner Ribeye swimbaits, picked up a few packs when they were on sale at TW for $1.50. They exceeded my expectations! Next I'd like to try the Little Creepers...
  13. ~ "According to most studies, people's number one fear is public speaking. Number two is death. Death is number two. Does that sound right? This means to the average person, if you go to a funeral, you're better off in the casket than doing the eulogy." - Jerry Seinfeld ~ "I have a friend. He keeps trying to convince me he's a compulsive liar, but I don't believe him." - Ben Bailey ~ "The New England Journal of Medicine reports that 9 out of 10 doctors agree that 1 out of 10 doctors is an idiot. -Jay Leno
  14. I've noticed these JDM spinning reels on many different japanese tackle websites I'm wondering if any of you guys have used them and how they compare to the stradic/rarenium ci4+ and sustain. Thanks.
  15. Actually more people on this thread have recommended the xx than almost any other rod, except maybe the glx/Nrx which isn't really in the $250-$400 price range unless you catch em on sale.
  16. X2. Up to $400 you might be able to find better than the xx, but at the $300 price range there's nothing else like it.
  17. Great thanks guys ive been wanting to get one for a long time to pair with an orochi xx. $307 is definitely the best deal I've seen so far but ill stay on the lookout!
  18. Also if you go with a ci4+ or zillion is go ci4+ based on tackletours review.
  19. Is eBay a good place to buy to buy a right hand Metanium xG? I noticed they're $307 free shipping looks like a good deal.
  20. Right now it's shakeyheads, jerkbaits, alabama rigs, etc. It will probably be different in April.
  21. Looks good. I use mine for crankbaits, might pick another up to try for jerkbaits.
  22. Lucky! Wish I could find some of those shimano jerkbait boxes!!!
  23. I'm the fish hear everything guy lol
  24. You're right, bassresource is the best! Welcome to the forums.
  25. You really can't go wrong at Sand Hollow. The fishing is great, especially in July. Soft plastics, jigs and frogs/toads are good choices as far as lakes go. PM me when you get to St George and I'll tell you what spots to fish. Good luck
