I'm looking for a high end heavy duty baitcaster for big swimbaits. I prefer a low profile over a round reel. Which reel is better? It will be on a dobyns champion 806HSB.
I noticed these are on sale at TW. I was going 2 get the tatula which is a lot cheaper but then I saw the zillion, zillion type r and crazy crankers were all on sale. What's the best value?
I can't think of anything I would need to use a reel with a gear ratio higher than 7.6:1 or 8:1. I don't know what the big deal is about the rocket. Get a premier or stx
I'm buying a at croix mojo bass swimbait rod and it is rated for 1-4 oz lures. Is that the limit or could I throw up to 6-oz? I throw mostly spros and hudds and 1-4 just doesn't cut it for these lures.
I'm going 2 b there this thurs and I need reports about what works best. I hear there's big fish in there and I'm going 2 throw swimbaits and big worms and stuff like that. Recent reports?
Hey guys im going to b using my flipping and frogging rod for smaller swimbaits in the 1/2 to 1 1/2 oz range. What line do recommend for this combo? I was thinking about using 50 lb braid for the frogging and flipping combo and a fluoro leader for the swimbaits. Would this work? Thanks for the help
I like using mono for spinnerbaits because it floats so u can keep your spinnerbaits near the surface more easily. I use 12-16 lb sunline super natural depending on cover
I have 2 of these, one 5.4:1 and one 6.4:1. I use the 5.4:1 for crankbaits w/ 14 lb test fluoro and the 6.4:1 for spinnerbaits and topwaters with 16 lb mono. Great reel for the money, thinking about ordering 7.1:1!!
