  1. Noticed this is on sale at tackle warehouse for $270. I don't have any extremes but I would love to try one especially at that price but has anyone used this model? Is it very versatile? I was thinking it would be good for 1/4-1/2 oz jigs and senkos. Any thoughts?
  2. Shallow waters. A little less than 10 both largemouth and smallmouth.
  3. California, utah, colorado, nebraska.
  4. Cell mate.
  5. Another one of my favorites. She was almost as wide as she was long!
  6. Got into some very fat bluegill this summer! Caught em on panther martins. I put bread on the treble I don't know if it helps much I think makes them hold on longer though.
  7. ^^ Agreed. Squarebills, medium divers, and lipless crankbaits work best for me in fall. I also like senkos on calm days. Wacky rigged seems to produce better.
  8. Yep! I thought it was a HUGE smallmouth. I was pretty surprised when it was two!
  9. Right now I use a 6 ft 6 in medium heavy. It's pretty heavy for a mh though. Rated 3/8-2 oz lures so works good for just about any frog and type of cover. Also doubles as a nice pitching stick although I'd like to get something longer next summer.
  10. I use a 7 ft heavy for most hollow bellies, like basstrix and berkley. 16-20 lb mono or flouro depending upon depth and cover you're fishing.
  11. Agreed. Sniper is a great flouro. I would go at least 14 lb test. 16 lb is more versatile though. Especially with c-rigs.
  12. Yep. One of my favorite lakes:D This time of year crankbaits, swimbaits, and senkos are my favorite baits.
  13. Nice fish^^. This was an interesting one. 4 lb smallie and a dink largemouth on the same cast! Strike king squarebill 2.5. Lake lopez ca.
  14. I caught my PB this morning 6.5-7 lber on a spro little John using 16 lb sunline super natural. I lost a bigger one a few months ago on 16 lb in utah. I used berkley for awhile switched to sunline and the stuff is great! 16 lb super natural has the same diameter as 12 lb trilene. Unfortunately, it's not as abrasion resesitant but I use it for topwaters and squarebills and haven't had many break offs. Just retie after every fish.
  15. I got a 6.5 lber and a 5 lber on the powell this morning! I like the rod. Has plenty of backbone and I was able to cast 5/8 oz squarebills no problem.
  16. I use 4 1/2 inch and 6 inch. Morning dawn is my favorite color, followed by bold bluegill and oxblood red flake.
  17. Squarebills are my favorite this time of year. Strike kings are the best value but jackalls and spros are my favorite. I use rattletraps 2.
  18. It's the 705cb medium hvy. Check it out on tackle warehouse.com. I got it because of the Labor Day sale and it was on sale $130 so I got it for $110.
  19. I got a powell max cranking rod on sale at tackle warehouse. It's 7 ft medium heavy. I like it, it's lightweight, but it seems a little light in power for a medium heavy. And it's rated 3/16-1/2 oz which is more of a medium rating. And then I noticed the 7 ft medium is rated 1/4-3/4 oz?! What is up with powells power ratings? The m is a mh and the mh is a m!
  20. I need a jig and worm rod for jigs up to 3/4 oz. I want to get a g loomis 7 ft heavy mag bass. Trying to decide between the new imx and the gl3 mag bass. I heard that the new imx isn't great its more like a $200 rod if that's true I'd rather get the gl3 for $240. What do u guys think?
  21. I want to get a 7 ft mh cranking rod for this fall when I do a lot of cranking what is the best rod under $200? I'm open to almost any rod I'm not very brand biased.
  22. My brother and I caught over 100 bluegill a couple weeks ago in hastings ne. It was pretty much a fish every cast, if your bait didn't get picked off! We could've caught more if we stayed all day we only fished for a few hrs.
  23. I've been having quite a few 50+ fish panfish days this summer and they seem to bite best in the middle of the day. I use panther Martin spinners; slip bobber rigs w/ almost anything from the fridge, bread, pickles, hot dogs, corn, etc. and worms. I also catch a lot of catfish on those setups. BTW I've been fishing in nebraska and coloardo. Much better pan fishing then Ca where I live.
