  1. Strike king 10xd chart perch, upgraded owner hooks. Nothing too special.
  2. I'm glad they fixed that stupid reel seat. I got the 7 ft medium spinning (old model) and the reel was always coming loose. Anyways I ended up breaking the rod hopefully I can send it in and get the new model with the ratcheting reel seat.
  3. The type r definitely looks better, comes in 8.1:1 gear ratio, and is slightly lighter. The tatula 7.3:1 is great for all-around use. Haven't used the hd, but it looks like a great reel for deep cranking and swimbaits.
  4. ^^ Agreed. One day I went out fished for 8 hrs and lost $55 worth of lures. That hurt:(
  5. Tatula hands down. Especially if you can find one for the same price as the speed spool.
  6. Lures- 1. Dirty jigs tour level skirted football jig 1/2 oz SoCal craw. 2. Top shelf magic stick 5 in. oxblood red flake. 3. Top shelf schooling minnow light hitch. 4. Roboworm kickin craw Aaron's magic rd and blk flake. 5. Jackall darts hog green pumpkin pepper. Rod- 1. Dobyns champ 734c. Reel- 1. Daiwa tatula 7.3:1. Lake- 1. Lake lopez ca.
  7. The most expensive lure I have lost a bass on was a spro little John, about $12. I lost a spro bbz1 once not on a fish but I made a bad cast and got a small backlash, line broke bbz1 went flying. Unfortunately is was a slow sink if it wouldve been a floater I could've retrieved it:(
  8. Hey guys just thought I'd ask what is your dream combo, if you could have any combo, casting or spinning for any price. Mine would probably be a g loomis Nrx green with either a shimano Antares or Stella. What's your ultimate combo?
  9. 7 ft medium or medium light rod, 2500 size reel, 8-12 lb flouro, 3-4 inch tubes, 1/4-3/8 oz jig heads.
  10. Price isn't an issue as long as its under $300. Basically it's phenix ultra vs g loomis imx or mossyback vs dobyns champ. Reel is shimano Calcutta b 400.
  11. I use a Carolina rig. 1/2-1 ounce weight, bead, swivel, owner circle hook, and piece of cut bait or chicken gizzard.
  12. I just use my dropshot rod for panfish and trout fishing. Road runners for panfish, panther martins for trout:D
  13. Do you guys ever catch catfish on bass lures like crankbaits? I got this cat on a spro squarebill. I was pretty surprised I thought it was a nice bass when I was reeling it in lol.
  14. Another excellent choice would be the daiwa tatula type r. My brother has the 6.3:1. I imagine the 8.1:1 would b great for flipping and frogging..
  15. X2. That new 8.0:1 looks great for flipping!
  16. Casitas, castaic, and diamond valley.
  17. Pearl white. I usually throw d-shads though my favorite color is bubblegum and watermelon black flake.
  18. I use the Yamamoto d-shads. They're more dense then the flukes so you don't need any weight to keep them under the surface in my experience.
  19. X3. I live 30 minutes away from the nearest lake and I can't drive:(
  20. About that 7 ft 9 hvy? New model. I have the opportunity to get one 40% off should I go for it? Seems like a good deal to me. How does the rod compare to the g loomis?
  21. I don't like that split grip. I'm just waiting for the old avids to go on sale at TW;)
  22. The senkos catch fish in almost all conditions for me. They'll bite the shim e stiks if the fish are on a good senko bite though.
