    Ya some how price range went from under $300 to $430 lol. Anyways, like I said, it doesn't really matter (it'll just take a lot longer to save up for it!) I'm still open to just about anything though including the Luna and the D.

    I just read an interesting article from 2003 on flw outdoors about a lady who caught a 22 1/2 lber out of spring lake ca. The article says the next WR will be worth "8 million dollars plus endorsements". Is that true? If so, that could definitely help with the cost of gear required to catch a WRB lol.

    ^^I'm not considering the new conquest, the old (2003) is already a little out of the price range I wanted to spend (yikes!). The 300 conquest @ Japan Tackle is the one I'm considering for $409.

    How does the TE compare to the Conquest? (I'm assuming they're both better than the E12) I'm still thinking E12, just considering the other options.

    Depends on whether you want tungsten or lead. Lead I like voss, tungsten I like reins.

    Megabass orochi xx emtf. It's a little hvy for 1/4 oz jigs, for 1/4, the flat side special would probably be ideal.

    How many yards of 12 lb sx1 braid (2 lb dia. mono) does the spool hold? I just don't want to spool it every cast with a 1/4 oz dropshot

    What are the benefits of a shallow spool? Ill be using 10-12 lb braid with a 4 or 5 lb flouro leader.

    I saw that. I'm definitely going to consider it. It's a little more than I wanted to spend, but for a reel that good, I might need to make an exception! I've narrowed it down to the jdm Calcutta d and the conquest. Thanks for the advise guys

    Just about any soft plastic works on a Carolina rig. Some of my favorites are senkos, roboworms, and beaver-style baits like the d-bomb and sweet beaver.

    Which is better, rarenium c14+ 2500 or the stradic c14+ 2500? I found the rarenium for $212 online so they're about the same price. I've heard great things about both, so I'd like to know your opinion on which is better, or are they about the same?

    Well I guess the Calcutta D is the way to go. I was initially hesitant to buy this reel based on the reviews at TW, but if it's good enough for you guys, it's definitely good enough for me. Is Rakuten a good place to order from?

    I heard they've (unofficially) caught 24 lbers there. That lake could definitely be a candidate for the next world-record. Although I think it'll probably be Japan or SoCal (L.A. or San Diego) idk.
