  1. X2. I would also consider an 8:1 daiwa tatula type r if you want faster gears.
  2. I need something like that in my bedroom lol.
  3. I would get a st croix avid 6 ft 8 in med x-fast. Dobyns champion 6' 8" med is a great choice as well if you want to spend a little more.
  4. As far as squarebills are concerned, I'd go with a spro little John. They're the most durable on the market IMO.
  5. I have that same crankbait. Never did catch anything on it.
  6. I agree on the premier. You could get one at TW for $100 with the Black Friday sale... Really nice rods for the money. I would definitely reccomend them over the veritas and lews rods mentioned.
  7. Sounds like a good solution. I forgot about the hook part too!
  8. Good idea. I've caught bluegill on cow spleen. I'm sure snakehead guts would work.
  9. Don't have any pics yet but I'm ordering a revo sx20 for my phenix m1 7'2" medium.. Should be a nice combo
  10. I hope you got her! We have plenty of skunks, opossums, and squirrels on our property that eat our chickens and eggs. I take care of em with my 10/22. I usually have my brother hold a flashlight while i shoot. I've got a 12 gauge but its a little too loud to shoot at night w/ the neighbors lol
  11. I guess a weedless hardbait (if there is such a thing) would be ideal. Squarebill or lipless crankbait would be a good choice.
  12. There's a lot of silversides where I fish. A major food source for bass in SoCal is crawfish, trout, and panfish. That's about all I know.
  13. Anyone got any recent lake cachuma reports? Ill be going there on Thursday for a few hours. I read that December is a great time of year to be fishing at cachuma. What are some good lures to be using there right now? What is the best area of the lake to fish on the bank. I'm limited to fishing from shore. Thanks.
  14. No, don't have snakeheads where I fish guess I didn't think about that lol. What kind of line would u use?
  15. You can get a dobyns champion cranking 765 for around $200 at TW with TW Black Friday sale. 805 would be even better for the lures you mentioned, if you can handle the 8 ft length. Id take a look at the new powell max 3d as well.
  16. I'd probably take a 7 ft heavy rod with 80 lb fx2 braid and a frog. You could probably catch a ton of fish and not lose the lure.
  17. Shimano Sedona 1000 for $40 turned out to be a great little reel. Powell max for $100 was an excellent deal as well. Ended up being one of my favorite rods! I even got an abu vengeance for $15 and a vendetta for $60 at Walmart. Just couldn't pass em up at those prices!
  18. X2. Those Barbie poles are the worst lol. Spend a little more and get a good Zebco spin cast combo.
  19. I want to be a firefighter or science/math teacher. Teacher would be nice because of the hours. Plenty of xtra time for fishing with summers off! Firefighter is definitely a cooler job though..
  20. What's the most versatile rod you own? Mine is definitely the powell max 7 ft mh mod fast. It's labeled as a cranking rod, but I've thrown just about any lure 1/4-1 oz. Everything from 6xds to shad raps on 8 lb mono! I've even pitched 1/2 oz jigs and thrown frogs on 50 lb braid on this rod. It's a perfect hard and soft jerkbait rod as well. What's yours?
  21. I bought the $99 lfs model when it came out and I gotta say, I'm very impressed! It fits perfect in my hand, and its pretty smooth. Casting distance isn't great, but just the same it's a great reel for the $.
  22. Worm-4.5 inch Roboworm Creature-RI sweet beaver Jerkbait-Lucky Craft pointer Spinnerbait-Custom "Crowbar", forgot the brand, made in Santa Barbara Crankbait-5xd Lipless-Spro Aruku shad Popper-Rebel pop-r Walker-Spook
  23. Wow! Those are huge! My biggest of another species is a 3 lb catfish lol.
