  1. I found one bag of the baby brush hogs in the sour grape color on ebay, now I just need more..
  2. I've been looking everywhere for Zoom baby brush hogs in the sour grape, if anyone cant point me towards a source it would be greatly appreciated, looking to buy multiple bags.
  3. Hey guys, I need help identifying this worm
  4. Awesome reel, definitely huge leap over the previous items you had.
  5. If you liked how those trick worms worked out try the Mann's jelly worms in grape which matches Zooms old purple, and black grape that matches zooms black grape, they are more buoyant and have more fluidity in the water. Mann's make a solid producing watermelon red also but your limited on sizes in that color.
  6. What was the actual names of the worms, they make a Old Purple, and Black grape which is almost black. But none of them go by the color name, Grape or Light Purple.
  7. I have Two NRX 822DSR rods, one is my dedicated drop shot rod, and the other is my Ned rig setup in my opinion it is the Ultimate Ned rig rod, it also makes a great Slider rod as well. The GLX will be just as good albeit slightly heavier in weight and slightly less sensitive but its splitting hairs, 3.6 oz NRX vs 3.8 oz GLX A GLX 852S would be a great rod for a second rod, tubes, shaky heads, jerkbaits etc.
  8. A medium extra fast St croix is a light medium heavy rod compared to other brands, so its gonna be very versatile, st croix underates the blanks, it can do a lot of things very well. Plus cork handles I feel are more sensitive than EVA, they use eva foam for cushioning in other industries......
  9. The Zodias can't compare to St. Croix as far as warranty. 15 year for st croix vs 1 year for the Zodias, essentially a tail light warranty.
  10. I've had numerous St. Croix and G Loomis rods, definitely stay away from the E6X even the new 2018 model unless you can get it for under $120, it's not a good value at its retail price. If you are thinking about Loomis, they are excellent rods some of the best if you stay with the GLX or NRX, the IMX is not a good value for the price point, you have much better options in that price range. As Far as St. Croix goes, you will definitely notice a difference between the Mojo and Avid or Avid X, the Avid series feel more balanced, they have a much better build quality, better warranty and are more sensitive, the avid series is overall more refined than the Mojo series. In fact the Avid series are some if my favorite rods in the low 200 dollar range.
  11. Yeah that's why I was asking. I have tons of super high end stuff also, NRX, megabass, etc. I actually feel bad if I'm asked what I use. If I know the other guy can't afford or think it's crazy to spend a lot for fishing equipment, so i lie and say Ugly sticks??
  12. Were you telling him about all about your "super high end" equipment before he told you what he used?
  13. I had the bait monkey problem really bad, to where I had every color made for every type of plastic bait. Then I got one of those waterproof field note pads and started keeping a log of every fishing outing writing down the baits and colors that I caught a fish on, along with date, time of day, location, weather and so on. You would be surprised how much more streamlined your tackle will become. For instance, plain brown and plain black jigs is all I carry and 4 different colors of trailers for them. And for plastic worms I have two colors, for ribbon tails and two for straight tails. I'll accent with dye. This pattern continues on for other soft plastics I have also. I do have a finesse set of plastics with the morning dawn colors and other funky colors, but those baits are mostly drop shots and trick worms, were talking maybe 5 to 6 packages of different types of finesse plastics for when the situation calls. You cant possibly cover every scenario. But the log as been hugely successful in catch rates and reducing my tackle purchase urges. Now I have more money to spend on more NRX rods, but that's another story ?
  14. I had 12 Avid x rods, and a few mojo rods I just recently got rid of, but I fished them quite often this past year, about 36 trips in a 10 month period, the major difference between the Avid X and the 2nd gen Mojo is the build quality and the fact that the Avid X is made in the US, other than that they were very similar while fishing with them. Extremely accurate casting rods, st croix rods are always a bit heavier than they should be, I feel that they go overboard with the epoxy on the rods. The new version Mojo rods I would say are slightly less sensitive than the Avid X rods even they they are both SCIII blanks, but the difference is negligible. If I did it again and had to choose between the two and I was buying multiple rods i would go Mojo, if I was gonna buy just one or two, I would go Avid X. A medium action casting and a medium heavy casting, along with a medium light spinning in either series will take care of a lot of presentations. The medium heavy mojo or avid x if a stout multipurpose rod.
  15. They were actually 110 each to be exact, Fleabay had them for 138 then with an additional 20 or 25% off coupon I forgot which, they were 110 shipped.
  16. Bought a few new rods and reels earlier this week, along with some graphs, still waiting on the Tatula LT spinning reels for the two spinning rods to come in, got them for a awesome deal, I'm super cheap and they were $100 bucks each for both during a Labor Day sale I couldn't resist.
  17. This particular body of water is not very deep, about 15 feet in the main channel, alot of lay downs, tules, some sparse Lily pads are coming back up, the water temp last time I checked last week was around 57 degrees by noon, 52 in the morning, and about 1.5 to 2 feet of visibility due to recent rains. The lake is in California.
  18. Hey guys i'm fishing my first tournament with my uncle, just to see how I like it, and need advice on how im gonna tackle this lake, its familiar to me so that helps. my Uncle has almost no Bass fishing experience besides the handful of times he has went with me although he is a experienced saltwater fisherman with his own 24 foot Striper series boat , he has been practicing using a baitcaster and will be using all my rods except for the combo he bought which has the same reel I will equip him with on all the baitcast rods i will set up for him which will help., with a couple spinning outfits also. this is my approach to the lake and tournament, what do you think? Me from first bait to use to last depending on structure/cover 1. Search bait: fat Impact on 1/8 weedless jig head 2. Vegetation or reeds: Spinnerbait 3. Wood cover: Frog 4. Vegetation or reeds: Fat Ika 5. Sparse cover or after partner misses bite: throw senko to missed bite area 6. Power search bait: LV500 Uncle from first bait to use to last depending on structure/cover 1. Search bait: Weedless Underspin 2. Vegetation or reeds: Chatterbait 3. Wood cover: Ned Rid or finesse jig 4. Sparse cover or after partner misses bite: throw Fluke to missed bite area. 5. After partner finds aggressive bass on LV500 or Spinnerbait: Drop shot, if no weeds and cover is present, if cover or weeds are present fish a finesse jig Always use the bait #1 at each spot before switching to cover/structure specific baits, we will try to target the aggressive fish in the area first, then slow down or fish location specific baits next. Partner fish the same bait number as the other partner: For example if Uncle is fishing #2 on his list, I will fish my #2 bait, all of this is dependent on cover/structure.
  19. I did, but its just shot, I've had it since 1999 a old berkley digital, I remember mowing a lot lawns to buy it along with a Shimano compre and a Daiwa procaster at the same time, still have that rod/reel combo but it's retired now.
  20. Here's another one, but it's time for a new scale, since according to it, this 22 3/4 long fish weights 0.5 lbs, any guesses on the weight, I'm pretty sure she's 5 lbs at least since I've caught a number of them. Kind of irritating but oh well, and I need to work on getting the whole fish in the picture when im by myself.
  21. Caught it right at the dock where they released about 700 trout the week prior
  22. This is the fattest 3.25 lb bass I've ever seen, of course it had just a fingernail sized portion of a trout tail sticking out of its throat. Without the trout probably 2.25 to 2.5
  23. I live in California, the only thing I don't like about the base layers is if your wearing a jacket, you get too hot, then you take it off and your a little cold. I just kept the jacket off, because I was running and gunning with a Lipless and the jacket I brought that day was a little too bulky for my liking made casting awkward.
  24. Thanks, I'm wearing under armour cold gear under everything, helps alot if it's not too cold outside.
  25. Caught this 5.5 lb beauty today. 48 degree water and 35 degree air temp 10 mph winds and 1ft or less of visibility.
