Where I live, if it's electric only, you must remove your gas tank. If you have a built in tank you must remove the propeller. All of the big glass boats must keep the outboard tilted up so the Ranger can see the prop is gone. That's how it works around here. Ronnie

RM, Beautifull work as always! You guys are making me feel bad with all this artwork on the rod grips. LOL Here's how a lazy guy does a split grip. This is my 7' MH Mod action Lamiglas "crankin stik" (spiral wrapped of course). Silver metalic base wraps with Black overwraps. Cork is a store bought 4-1/2" foregrip turned around backwards and a rubber butt cap. The guides are not underwrapped. Ronnie

If it's been in salt water, it might be the salt reacting with the gel coat. Try some "GoJo" or "Goop" hand cleaner (no grit) and a 3M (green) Scotchbright pad (you can get them in the grocery store). We cleaned a friend of mine's boat with this and it came out like a new nickle. Ronnie

http://www.frontierrods.ca/ Frontier rods (G-Loomis of Canada) seems to have legitimate connections to Loomis, but their rods are not billed as IMX on their website. They call all their rods X-series. They may be very good rods, but I am very doubtfull that they are regular G-Loomis IMX quality. JMHO Ronnie

This guy has a long standing good reputation and I know several guys personally that have bought from him. Many here on the forum. No bad reports, yet. You can bet that I will know if the rod is anything but perfect when it comes out of the box. Thanks for the heads up, I will pull the old surveyor's inspection on it for sure. Ronnie

I think that EWG hooks are the greatest invention since peanut butter. They are more weedless, have a smaller diameter (profile) and I have noticed no problems with hookups vs bites. An improvement if anything. If you are breaking EWG Gammie's catching fish then I want to fish with you! Ronnie

If you use gas cans instead of milk jugs you won't need as many. Ronnie

Try 50lb power pro, it's 12# diameter will work fine on your reel. You will have less line digging with the larger line. I use it on all but one of my Shimano baitcasters. It performs flawlessly. JMHO Ronnie

I have been thinking for a while now that the SJ722 IMX that I built for the Stella was a little too much rod for the 1000FB, so I built the Lamiglas noodle rod. The noodle rod is cool and a lot of fun, but is more suited to panfishing. I bought a Shimano Twin Power 2500 from a forum member and it is perfect for the SJ722. Tonight I hit up Fatfishfarmer on ebay for a DSR820S GLX for the Stella, it's a dropshot rod, but I will use it for a finesse rig also. Even though I like to build rods, somehow this guy sells factory rods cheaper than I can buy a comparable blank and parts to build it myself. I don't know how he does that, but I'm in. If you are considering a Loomis rod, you have to check this guy out. Ronnie

Their bicycle parts were around in the late sixties, I used to work in a custom bicycle shop as a kid and we used their parts regularly. According to their website they got into fishing in the early seventies. I have a Bantam Mag reel that I bought in 1980. Ronnie

I'm still not clear if you are interested in a casting rod or spinning rod. The Loomis rods that fishtank and flechero suggest above are only available as baitcasters. Ronnie
