The purpose of the knot is to attach a leader to a main line. Especially effective when the diameter of the lines are different. I also use this tool for hook snells. Easy to use.
My arthritic hands now use a knot tying tool and I love it. Opposing nail knot is very small to fit through guides and incredibly strong. I use it for attaching any leader.
I like U-40 "Rod Bond" because it mixes to a paste/gel consistency and stays where you put it. I hate when the glue runs all over the place. Rod Bond is also very strong. JMHO
Not trying to argue, but the worm in that video looks like a Strike King 3X which is a floating worm. A conventional plastic worm that long wouldn't stand straight up 4" behind the hook, even if the jig stayed upright. Don't get me wrong, I love Bobby's shakey jig and use them all the time.
Rod Bond for cork rings, grips and seats. I have some rods with 10-15 years on them with no issues. Hot glue for tips and "Threadmaster" and "Flexcoat" for wraps.
I am also a Stella fan and the "Twin Power" (JDM Sustain), I have is pretty sweet also for less $$. No one wants a Stella until they get to fish with one.
From the "just because I could department". I bought a 6' 4 wt 1 piece "Lamiglas" fly rod and built an UL rod. I love fishing with it. Usually a Stella 1000 with 4lb co-polymer line. I call it my "noodle rod".
