  1. Always glad to help when I can. Ronnie
  2. The low water theory sounded good until I looked at the contours. In many places around the islands you have the dotted line appearing in relatively deep water. Also the line is not constant throughout, it has a lot of gaps along the shoreline and if you look at the dotted line carefully it almost always surrounds the symbols for sand and/or gravel, you don't find those sand & gravel symbols in the gaps of the line. My best guess although the map is not clear is it shows the limit of the sand & gravel bottom. JMPO. Ronnie
  3. Brian, You are an amazing guy. Your attitude and service are a role model for all of us. The "MOJO" just reminds us that nothing in life is certain and sometimes we just have to pick up the pieces, do the best we can and trust God for the rest. Thanks for being someone the rest of us can look up to. Keep on keeping on! Long live the "MOJO"! Ronnie
  4. Taps is playing in the background as I type this..... :'( :'( http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1210031842 Ronnie
  5. A sad day for the "MOJO BRACELET"............... To the family of "MOJO BRACELET" c/o Bassresource.com We regret to inform you that after surviving numerous dangerous skirmishes in the battlefields of the Middle East, and performing with great valor in each, it has come to our attention that during a well deserved furlough while in transit that "MOJO BRACELET" has been officially declared "Missing In Action" by the United States Postal Service. Since this incident appears to be the result of extreme negligence on the part of the U.S.P.S. the details will remain "Classified". No remains have been found, only a note signed by the last few friends who had the pleasure of "MOJO'S" company. I regretfully never had the honor of seeing the MOJO personally, however I feel a closeness based on reputation alone. After suffering the disappointment of being next in line to receive MOJO and dealing with the sad reality that he was lost so carelessly by those we trusted on the journey, I have taken the liberty of constructing a memorial and a "Rookie Replacement" for "MOJO BRACELET". It shall continue on MOJO's journey and seek to complete the peaceful mission began by it's honorable predecessor. GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN. GOODBYE FRIEND! Ronnie (Alpster) :'( God Bless, Ronnie

    Gun Question

Laws most likely vary from state to state, but common sense dictates that you should know when your gun is loaded. To me, this means I am ready to fire it. That means I am ready to accept responsibility for what happens when I fire it. JMHO Ronnie
  7. It's about freakin time!! WELCOME BACK old friend! Ronnie
  8. Funny how you get one finished and you find that one little detail that is not what you envisioned. Makes me want to chuck it and start over. The rod looks great to me. I agree with RM and I bet your dad will love it. Ronnie
  9. You guys are awesome, I appreciate your support! Ronnie
  10. Me too! Ronnie
  11. Link to the news article.....Tragic death of a 20 year old friend of mine... http://www.app.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080713/NEWS/807130380/1001/news This young man has worked for me off an on for the last several of years doing survey work. Smart, caring kid who worked hard and went the extra mile. A sad loss to his family and those who loved him. That includes me. He knew the Lord and is now experiencing grace, but his family and I are feeling the loss. If you read the article and feel compelled to make a judgment about weather it was his fault or not, please save it. It makes little difference now. I was rich, handsome and bullet proof when I was 20 years old and I invented bad judgment calls. He may have made one, it but won't change much to point it out. Thanks for listening. It helps me to talk about it. Pray for his family. Ronnie
  12. There's only one for me. CULPRIT. Ronnie
  13. Hey Keith, CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!! This is how clueless I am. I thought your avatar was a screen shot from a chart plotter. Awesome good news for you. I will be praying the baby looks more like mom. ;D God bless, Ronnie

  16. Hey MassHoleMike, whatever you do, don't loan 'ghetto boy' your rod!! That's a great story and an incredible fish. Way to go Russ!! Ronnie
  17. That's no surprise to me. I remember standing around the table in his cabin at Guntersville as he was showing everyone the jigs he was catching some nice bass on. As he was showing us the jigs he was using, he was handing them out "here you take this one, and use this here trailer". "Go ahead and take it, I have a bunch of them". Blaine is 1st class, no doubt. Good for you Burley! Ronnie
  18. I have built several rods on them. Carl's and Wayne's rods have the ACS seats. I am building one for myself now with one and I will give a report when I have fished with mine awhile. Being a constant reel palmer, it looks like it will be good for me. Sounds like Wayne likes his. Hey Carl, what do you think about the ACS reel seat?. Ronnie
  19. That's awesome news! Be sure to tell him when you can, that we are thinking about him. Hang in there. Ronnie
  20. Very good! Sam always tries to be helpful and you gotta love anyone who has a crawfish for an avatar. CONGRATULATIONS! Ronnie
  21. 7' 6" G' Loomis FS905 IMX custom flippin stick with Shimano CH50MG and 50lb Power pro pitching near shore in the thickest cover I can find spring and fall. MBR844C IMX custom with CH50MG and #12 YoZuri Ultra Soft in deeper water structure from January to December but usually prefer deep water on the hottest days of summer. Jigs are Arkie and Terminator Pro in 1/2 and 3/4 oz with Robo creatures & Yum Craws in plastics and Uncle Josh pork trailers (eels and frogs). Ronnie
  22. Very well said! Ronnie
  23. Yep, Mike's back! Welcome old friend. Ronnie
  24. Catt is right on. Some of the best tasting fish you will eat, but you will waste 1/2 the meat trying to fillet them. It's a little work eating them off the bones, but it's worth it! JMHO Ronnie
  25. +1 - If there is a better rod for the $ than a 844C IMX, I haven't seen it. Ronnie
