  1. Culprit 7- 1/2" in Black Shad. Nothing better. Ronnie
  2. I am a land surveyor and use these one job field books for my fishing logs. They will fit in a pocket, waterproof and cheap if you lose one. http://www.engineersupply.com/elan-one-job-field-book.aspx Ronnie
  3. You did GOOD! I have about a 100 of those Strike King jigs. When I find em on sale like you did, I will grab 20 or so. There are jigs I like better, but I will throw those SKs in the worst of thick cover and I don't care if I lose them. Caught a lot of fish on them. Ronnie
  4. Fly Rod! It might not be a bass, but in the summertime when all else fails, I will catch something. Even a 1/2 lb bluegill or a perch is a blast on a 1wt fly rod. Ronnie
  5. That doesn't make sense to me. Why should the price point dictate the guarantee? I can't think of any complex mechanical product that is subject to wear and tear that comes with a lifetime warranty. The very best of the best, Mercedes Benz, Kitchen Aide mixers, Nikon Cameras, Ducatti Motorcycles and on and on....none of them offer a lifetime warranty just because they are expensive. JMHO Ronnie The higher ends reels that don't should, just because it isn't offered people accept that as the way it should be, I disagree. Ross fly reels, lifetime warranty Tibor reel, limited lifetime warranty Zeebass, lifetime excluding drag washers. The parts that go into a reel cost little when bought in volume at wholesale. The companies that employ overseas labor pay little per item and the cost of shipping isn't that much when broken down per item. My guess expensive reels probably cost no more that $100 to make, I think that's high too. A manufacturer's lifetime repair or replace if needed sound very reasonable to me, it is also a great selling point and could command an even higher retail price. I don't disagree with you. I wish everything were guaranteed forever. My point was that just because it's expensive doesn't mean it "should' be guaranteed forever. That's not the standard in the marketplace. I wish that it were so. All decent Fly reel makers, including as you point out, Ross & Tibor have a lifetime warranty, I believe because they only have a few moving parts. I have an Able & several Orvis reels that are warranted for life. BTW, according to their website "ZeeBass" reels only have a 1 year warranty. Ronnie
  6. I fish tubes with the same rod as worms and light jigs, 7' Loomis 844C. Drop shot with a much lighter spinning rod GLX DSR 820. I consider dropshotting a finesse technique. Ronnie

  8. I don't doubt you but if you could, could you share with us what it is that sets it above the rest? One thing about spinning reels is you seem to get a whole lot of reel for the money, like a symetre for $99 whereas that same $$ gets you entry level gear with baitcasters. The Symetres are sweet to me and so are stradics, and I can only imagine the performance of a Stella. So what makes the Stella stellar IYHO? Thanks! Stella!!!! Stella!!!!! ;D I don't have a Symeter, but I have 2 Stradics and a Twin Power (JDM version of the Sustain) and it's the difference between driving a Buick and a Ferrari, the Buick runs good, will take you anywhere you want to go, etc. but if you could choose any car you wanted, which would it be? The light weight, amazing fit and finish, perfectly machined parts and flawless performance are what make the Stella "stellar. If I had the $, I would own at least one in every size. IMHO Ronnie
  9. Yo Zuri Ultra Soft and Power pro. Ronnie
  10. Mine is an older 1000FB it retailed for around $500 when I bought it on ebay new for around $300. They changed something about the reels and now they are up to $700 MSRP. If it's a newer model "FE" that sounds like a steal. I can tell you it's sweetest spinning reel I have ever held. Ronnie

There is a magic sound that is made when you chamber a shell in a pump action shotgun. This is usually the end of the discussion for most intruders and you rarely have to fire a shot. If you do have to fire it is highly effective. JMHO Ronnie
  12. Relocate America lists two NJ towns in the "Top 100 Places to Live in the US". http://www.relocateamerica.com/top-100-cities/ Most of NJ is beautiful and covered with farms and suburbia. You can't judge the whole state by Newark and Camden. JMHO Ronnie
  13. I have caught hundreds of fish in NJ and never have I seen such a thing. Sounds like a story to me. :-? Ronnie It would make sense with all those orange colored girls you have living down there Alpster. ;D Mike, He was talking about contaminated fish, not contaminated women. LOL You are watching too much TV. BTW, I think you have a secret crush on "Snookie" don't ya?

  15. Welcome to the forums. I have fished Assunpink and it's OK. NJ DWF has designated it as a "Trophy" bass lake. That doesn't mean it is full of big bass. It just means they have changed the keeper limits in an effort to produce bigger fish. My home fishery is the Manasquan Res. in Howell and I think it's among the best in NJ. Along with some nice LM, I've caught smallies and hybrids there.
  16. Wireless communication is sent in blocks of data. Similar to "packets" in old wired data transfer. When the blocks get distorted by static or interference the software used by the data carrier (verizon, At&t, etc) tries to fill in the blanks so the call doesn't drop. If enough blocks are not "corrected" you lose the call. They are not really corrected, they are just postponed hoping that the signal will improve and restore the data stream. I don't really get it all, this is how it was explained to me. Ronnie

Yeah, what happens if you miss with that one shot? It seems if you are far enough away to miss with a shotgun, you are probably not in enough danger to be defensive. I would worry more about being outnumbered. In which case a clip would be desirable. Anyways it's an awesome project Ken, you do great woodwork. Ronnie
  18. This would be true for me also. Ronnie
  19. I honestly thought it was some kind of spoof Pepsi commercial or something and the "Real" halftime show would begin any minute, but SADLY that was it......what a ridiculous display. I could have gotten them a decent band for a lot less money I'm sure. LOL Ronnie
  20. It's too bad they didn't show the whole commercial, no clue as to why they cut it so short. I'm guessing that $3 million for 30 seconds may have had something to do with it. Lil Vader was definitely the best. Ronnie
  21. When you pick up to move to another spot, let out 75 yards of line behind the boat and tow the line without a lure. If you bank fish, stretch the line out on the ground and reel it back up through pinched fingers. It's the only thing that works. The line WILL twist, so you have to un-twist it. JMHO Ronnie
  22. I agree with ww2farmer and Sam....if it don't feel just right, you will find it on the flea market board. I do have a Chronarch 50Mg on G.loomis custom rod that seems to float in your hand. Some of the members at the Guntersville Roadtrip might remember holding that one. Ronnie
  23. I have two 5'6" Heavy rods with pistol grips for pitching in close quarters and bank fishing in heavy cover. I love them! Ronnie
  24. X2 This is wise advise! Ronnie
  25. any finesse type worm will do. JMHO
