  1. Clams work excellent. My PB striper was caught in a clam. 42#. I use magic/elastic thread as well to hold then on. When the bass are finicky they will even suck the belly/guts of the clams off your bait with not even the slightest notice unless holding your rod in hand.
  2. Try swim jigs or chatter bait style jigs as well run right I top of the slabs.
  3. Has anyone here ever fished the Marsh at night? How did you do? What baits were productive? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  4. Snook... I'd love to get together with you and catch one if these buggers. Show me the way of the Jedi peacock fisherman!!! Please!!! Lol
  5. Use a small mesh bag with a few rocks in it as well to sink in area you can throw your net to. If current takes it away they will be wherever your chum floats to.
  6. Try chumming the area with a large can of a fish based cat food. Poke holes in te can with a screwdriver and throw into area you are going to fish. Bullheads can't resist worms. Any of the other types any kind if oily fish will do the truck and chicken livers as well. I like using dead herring for channels. Nice oily bait that doesn't wash out if scent after just a few minutes if soaking.
  7. Mix with dough baits. Can make your own at home and mix in. Anything oily tends to leave more scent in the water.
  8. Sometimes it depends on which type trout. Rainbows love powerbait. Browns love spinners and small shiners. And brook trout love worms. Just a basic starting point IMO.
  9. Clams and eels!!!!!
  10. Sorry snook. Just noticed you mentioned eels as well. tERRIFIC bait. One of my favorites. Just need to get them down past the bluefish first. Lol. And if using bunker. Use the heads of dead/frozen baits. Blues will leave the bonier heads alone for the most part.
  11. Just like freshwater bass. Stripers like structure also. Rocky bottoms and any type of wooden structures if in a decent depth of water. Say 10ft plus or deeper. Stripers will sit right next to them as an ambush point to grab a quick snack as something passes by. Clams work great and if you have a boat follow behind a clamming boat and watch as the stripers boil behind eating any morsels the boat discharges. If using from land break cleaned shells with small aluminum bat into the water as chum.
  12. Great call sir snook. Those tubes mimic eels to my best knowledge. They also love sand and blood worms at certain times of year.
  13. Two baits I can't believe haven't been mentioned are clams whic work better with elastic string holding them on the hook and eels!!!!! Fished both on fish finder rigs and kill them all the time. Think eels tend to work a little better I the fall but if they are present where your fishing now they are a stripers candy. And to answer another question. Yes they are migrating. Don't tend to hit the mass Maine area till late June. Bite is happening mostly in Nj/NY area. Hope this helps.
  14. Oatmeal plain and wait about an hour and toss your net.
  15. Quality over quantity for me!!!
  16. Seems like a sensible thing to do. Most likely it was lost on a fish. So you know one fish in that certain place has an appetite for that specific presentation.
  17. Night fishing is also great when the mid day sun is super hot. Surface temp tends to cool a few degrees from daytime temps and bass start actively feeding. Look for lights dock areas hold baitfish and even dark areas of any kind of cover.
  18. I've caught quite a few of my larger fish at night. Favorite is throwing a black buzz bait and a black spook also. Never had much action with worms at night bit normally have enough action on the other baits to keep my busy enough.
  19. That's crazy. Are they the same as cottonmouths in Florida?
  20. I heard the best statement tht fits your analogy BBD. Not all Dicks are created equal... Speaking if the stores and which ones carry more stuff... Lol
  21. Osborne is a great place also. Try on the south side of lantana rd. tends to see a little less traffic.
  22. The lake has been producing pretty consistent. Some of the canals up here have a little more depth to them so that causes some of the fish to spread out to find cooler water. I've caught many in the evening and mornings with all sorts of too water baits. Buzz spook floating jerk baits twitched just below the surface. You can occasionally ru into peacocks also. Haven't caught any myself there but I know they are there.
  23. Can probably try putting it in some kind if mesh bag with a rock in it to sink it where you wanna throw your cast net.
  24. Dry. That's why you leave it for about an hour. They will eat at it both on top of the water and as it starts to sink.
  25. C-14... If your in the boca area PM me and we can get together in my canoe and hit some local places. I'm in Boynton. Plenty if canals and small lakes that bigger boats don't even enter.
