  1. All I know about swimbaits and ROF is what ROF stands for. Rate Of Fall correct? When a swimbait has a rating of ROF 12, what exactly does that mean?
  2. Their lack of response could be because they haven't been back to a computer or like I said maybe he got a sour taste in his mouth getting such helpful advice from yourself and drill sergeant Sam. Your time spent commenting on SAMs defense could have been better suited to answering the original question. Why has Sam not been on to respond?
  3. Who cares if they are a one hitter as you call them. Anyone visiting whether short or long term should be welcomed with respect. In neither of your posts do I see any welcome but you were sure quick to say something to me in SAMs defense. I've been around long enough and quite honestly don't care if someone has been here ONE time or a million. They're gonna get the best answer I can give them if it's a subject I can help them with.
  4. Guess that's why I use braid with flouro leaders.
  5. Did it to fix an older shimano rod and hasn't moved since being installed and has been going strong for about 10 years now. One reason I said to research the size is to prevent compromising the flange like you've stated. The tips are an easy fix with the kits as you've stated as well.
  6. Water temps, length of figth could be a couple factors.
  7. Depending on location you can get some waders to get out in the water as well. Here in Florida though that's not much of an option unless you wanna become the bait.
  8. All that hassle to use a promo spool? Id rather use what other guys have suggested.
  9. I believe there's one in the flea market. You may wanna contact whoever has it posted as to what their thoughts of it are.
  10. I have the accurist and energy both. The energy may be a tad better for normal casting but the added option of the flipping switch is nice to have and I use mine with it engaged while using those techniques.
  11. I've done it before. The insert has a smaller inside edge which is what holds in in the original metal frame. They snap right in. No glue or adhesive needed.
  12. Second paragraph he states he's had no luck with larger baits. Larger baits do not always equal larger fish. Sometimes you need a smaller profile to emulate the size bait natural to the waters you fish. I used to use 6" version of the slugO on my lake I grew up fishing. I would catch fish but mostly dinks-2lbs max. Started using the 4.5" version in the same color and began catching fish from dinks up to 7lbs.
  13. The major variable is how long of a pause you use in whichever cadence your using.
  14. How you gonna work a Sammy or other topwater through that nasty grass and slime?
