Ah, dont be offended… I once thought about getting a kayak but the length and closeness to the water didn't appeal to me. For my budget a decent kayak that sat me up high enough to be comfortable and stable (feeling) would shoot me well into the $1000.00 price range. I know there are plenty of "Accends and other Walmart type that would do just fine but the idea of a Pelican for size and higher placement works better for me. Swiveling around to get to my gear is easier when your my size. They are cool looking.

The website shows $459 for 1 or $798 for 2. I may just get the Pelican for the carry space. This would be better than a Kayak imo.
