Ok ok ok I *might* spend more than a hundred bucks on one.. Tackle monkey on my back on this one...

It seems the choices are endless. I posted a link to a cheaper wild river bag, and all the more expensive one have great reviews.. One thing I need is one that won't hurt your back.. At a couple holes I fish I have to walk a pretty good distance to get to my favorite spots.

I've had a lot of luck with the bps smaller jerks. My only compliant is the extremely terrible hook quality on them... Of course that can be fixed!

Thanks for the reply.. I checked those out but was unimpressed with the reviews.. One guy said it only lasted him a year, and that was fishing one day a week. I work swing shifts so I frequently hit a hole or two in the mornings I get off.. So usually more than one day a week.

I had the most fun with the dropshot, but as far as numbers go the weightless fluke prevailed. Early to mid spring though I killed them with a floating jerk, and eventually moved on to a suspending.

You got to be kidding me! That is my all time go to bait. If nothing else is working I throw my ul spinning gear with a beetle spin and it ALWAYS produces... Funny how thins work for some and not others. GO CARDS btw.

40 acres is definitely big enough for there to be ledges. Especially if it's an old quarry like he stated. He mentioned he fishes out of a little pontoon, so no bank beating. I also think you should be having a good fish fry soon. And since you said you live on it I assume you own it?

That's what I have my lews TMG on for now and use it for Texas rigging and the occasional weightless fluke. No complaints on the rod.

As mentioned before I would consult the pond boss forums. That place is the bible of pond management.

Definitely not Walmart. I feel that way at my local sporting goods store. I try my best to not feed the big stores any of my fishing money.

Oh I keep the line between my thumb and index. Been doing that for over 15 years. Thanks for the reply though. I'm not a noobie just new to a c rig. My dad never fished one so I never learned or took the time to.

Just in to mention I caught my first two bass on the c rig this morning! I changed my weight, threw on a black lizard with chartreuse tail, and went to the pond with a little more confidence knowing that my lure was supposed to drag the bottom. Amazing how that confidence can change the way you fish it. I would drag a few feet and pause. Then maybe a foot then pause and twitch a little. Then a couple more feet, and on the pause.... BAM. Destroyed it. Was only about a pound and a half but still felt great. And a cold front just went through last night. Sorry to ramble just super stoked. I was skunked yesterday morning. Just had a bad overall outting getting snagged with my swimbait more than once. And various other mishaps. So my mental health depended on me catching at least one this morning. Thanks for all the help guys!

HELLO? So you call a liar a liar. Did you change the fact he lied? Are you preventing him from telling more lies in the future? Does it bother you perhaps because you have done the same? Maybe some projection going on here? Just an observation.

Jeez Glenn knows how to stir the pot. Only thing I will say/ask is why waste the mental energy it takes to be annoyed when someone lies about a big fish? Much more productive things to do than worry about someone else's opinion/fish story. I think there are deeper unresolved issues here. The same issues that are behind the motives to lie about a fishes size, no?

I haven't found the color to matter as much as the retrieve. It also depends on whether your fishing clear sky's or overcast, or windy. For overcast days I try to throw something with more flash.
