  1. Perhaps some five gallon bucks with holes drilled in them. Place small diameter pvc pipes in the holes, then fill the bucket with qwik Crete. You can drill as many holes and put as many pipes as you can fit through the buckets.
  2. Thanks for the advice guys!
  3. Now I think I'm torn back to the M. I really want to throw shakey heads along with small trigged plastics. And I don't know if a ml will have the backbone for it. I also fish around a lot of submerged trees and lay downs.. Which is another concern with a Ml.
  4. I have been doing some reconsidering and I think I have decided to go with the mlxf. You have this rod in mlxf angry John? I mainly plan on light weight plastics Texas rigged.
  5. Thanks for the suggestion. I guess I will have to order straight from Fenwick. It seems the rod I was looking at on TW a medium moderate-fast is actually a two piece rod. And I do not want a two piece. Fenwick has a 6'9 medium fast on their site that is a one piece. TW doesn't indicate the rod being two piece but Fenwick does. Which leads me to my next question. Has anyone ordered directly from Fenwick? And if so, how was your experience?
  6. Talking about the bass. This one in particular. http://www.***.com/Fenwick_Elite_Tech_Bass_Spinning_Rods/descpage-FFGD.html Edit: From TW
  7. Was interested in picking one up for a finnese combo. Was looking at the 6'9 medium in particular. Anyone have any experience with one, or suggest something else in the same price range?
  8. I got my bag before I got my first magazine.
  9. Paid 160 for both brand new... Couldn't afford not to.
  10. After reading this thread, I'm waiting for one featuring a discussion on how using live bait is unethical. "how would you like it if you were thrown on a hook and cast into the water to be ate?"....
  11. It's as much sport as fishing any other spot/pattern. I agree with someone above me who said that those of you who say it's not much sport have not had much experience in doing it. It seems you all believe the fish bite whatever you throw onto the nest without hesitation. Which isn't true. Furthermore, bed fishing is fishing a pattern like you would other times of the year. Dog days of summer? Move deep and fish ledges. Pre spawn? Fish staging areas. Spawn? Fish beds.
  12. You participate knowing good and well that the results of your actions fishing can and will cause the death of fish. Although I do everything in my power to prevent it.
  13. I am actually surprised by all the responses claiming it's 'wrong' or they 'feel' wrong bedfishing. As someone above said, fishing is a blood sport. As is hunting. I personally enjoy bedfishing and take full advantage of it when the spawn comes around... And don't lose a wink of sleep once the day is over.
  14. Can't seem to find the PQ for fifty.
  15. I will agree the action of the Xps lures isn't bad.. But I have bent many of hooks that came with those baits.. So with the price I would have to spend to replace with decent hooks.. I could have bought something a little higher quality.
  16. What action on the st Croix?
  17. Looking to add a decent spinning setup to my collection for shakey heads and drop shots and such for next year. Have been eyeballing the Lexa and playing with it at academy. I'm just looking for rod action suggestions from you guys. Wanting to stick with a 6'6 length rod.
  18. I was at academy yesterday and no such deals at mine. I picked up some zoom plastics that were a dollar off. A sk sexy shad lipless for a dollar off. And some owner 1/4 oz shakey heads for a dollar off..
  19. My all time favorite is bill dance. As someone mentioned, it may be contrived, and he may fish in well stocked reservoirs, but it's the nostalgia for me. Me and my dad would wake up every Saturday and eat breakfast while watching bill dance before heading out to go fishing ourselves. Some of the best days of my life I'll never forget. I also like hank parker.
  20. Checked it out. Looks very interesting.. Surely someone here has some experience with one.
  21. As someone mentioned above time time time is the only way to get better with plastics. Just think the more time you swing and miss a Hookset take it as a learning experience.
  22. Got this one in the mail www.cabelas.com/product/Cabelas-Advanced-Anglers-Backpack/1546939.uts
  23. Maybe not the best but definitely the funniest. Me and a buddy were puttin around on my little plastic bass tracker with a trolley motor on my parents pond. We had been fishing the better part of the day and had a nice collection of bass, crappie, and red ear in a fish basket we had tied to the boat. We were at the far end of the pond and decided to cruise to the shallows on the other side. So I put the motor on five and off we went. When we got there we were throwing topwaters and tearing the bass up. On about the fifth catch I decided to pull the basket completely out of the water to admire our bounty of fish. Upon pulling it up it seemed there were a few nice sized crappie and red ear missing. The basket wasn't in the best shape and the lid spring was a little warn out. Turns out that when I put the trolley motor on high speed the force of the water opened the lid, and our hard work just swam right out! We were disappointed but had a hearty laugh by the end of the day.
  24. About to settle for this one. www.cabelas.com/product/Cabelas-Advanced-Anglers8482-Backpack/1546939.uts?No=0&destination=%2Fcategory%2FTackle-Bags%2F104619780.uts
  25. Thanks for chiming in! I currently use a lands end single strap around the shoulder for my bank adventures. It just isn't very functional. I can fit three boxes of Plano(sorry don't know the size) organizers in it but it isn't very comfortable..... And dammit I need to. Justify a new bag to my wife.... Haha
