  1. If you want the best quality look up Rosco. They are made in the USA, they are a manufacture that lots of other companies just buy and OEM or put on their lures. But they will sell to you direct in bulk. Probably not 100, but more like 1000 and it they are cheap to buy direct.
  2. Those are some seriously ugly rods
  3. Johnny is a pretty smart guy so I'm sure it was a good move. Makes a lot of sense with how close the companies were anyways. Now they can ship all on the same trucks to dealers, and they will instantly have a lot more dealers for Ranger / Triton / Startos is Bass Pro's sell them. Quality will be the same. What will be interesting to see is what happens with the whole FLW / Walmart thing.
  4. Depends on the store I guess. The Bass Pro near me all the people in fishing know a ton. Most our tournament fisherman or guides. Gander on the other hand... I heard the guy at the counter tell a guy a navionics chip was for his computer and not a fish Finder.... A cabelas opened up a month ago too about an hour and a half away and no one there will even say hi to you.
  5. When you watch tv and actually look at the lures KVD is throwing a Megasbass Vision 110 and a Lucky Craft Pointer a whole lot when he is using a Jerkbait.
  6. No matter what the line of loomis rods is, you can get another brand rod that's better quality and more sensitive for half the money
  7. The arrow rotates. You just turn it when you put the motor down so it's correct
  8. It was sold like 6 months ago... And I thought Ken was still involved and ran or owned the manufacturing. I don't think much will change.
  9. Used both. Don't own any more Shimano rods because of how many break. They have a great warranty but it's needed because I've never known anyone that hasn't broke one. Cashion is more sensitive and better quality. Some people don't like the grips or micro guides, but that's personal preference in my opinion.
  10. I have a nice boat, thank you. You certainly missed the point.
  11. I would be very surprised if there was any other boat like yours entered in the tournament. And I agree... I would be ticked if I was the coangler
  12. BPS tubes are probably the best tubes of any brand out there. I like the creature baits like the bull hog and river bug. I still prefer a senko over a stiko but stikos are a lot cheaper and do work and have good colors. They have a new swimbait that looks like a Keitech that swims great too.
  13. I don't like them because they use very cheap components and the blank is about the same as $50 rods
  14. Yea Shimano started doing it a few years back. Too bad the new curados won't be out by then.... Or maybe they will be? Of you are lucky enough to have two bass pros near you it's worth a little bit longer drive to go to a bigger one that has a lot more in stock.
  15. Anyone have any idea what's going on with Pradco??? They have basically no new products this year other than some variations of the yumbrella rig... But that seems like a pretty stale category these days. The regular yumbrella is on clearance everywhere. There's no new hard baits. Xcaliber seems to be dying off since Edwin Evers went to Megabass. The older brands like bomber, Smithwick, heddon etc have nothing new to compete with modern lures. F2 soft baits were a big flop and are constantly on sale everywhere yet don't sell... Do you think this company is dying? Big new things at the classic or Icast? Anyone know?
  16. Seems like a lot of people haven't taken both apart... They are nearly identical. They aren't better quality, they just have better marketing. That used to be about the same as the older revos before the gen3 and older pfluegers before this years new ones. They are both a bit different now.
  17. I'm guessing it probably had to do with that guy that runs Lews... Who used to design the BPS reels... Who left BPS to run Lews... Then all the Lews reels came out and are almost identical to the BPS reels but for a lot more money for the same thing... If I was a betting man I bet that's part of it.
  18. Just order one however you want it. Your dealer will order them for you with whatever you want. Most people dont buy one off the showroom floor. Sounds like your dealer probably is a etec dealer and repair center so thats why they do it. As far as motors go, look up the facts. Evinrudes typically have the highest rate of warranty issues and problems, then it drops down to mercury, then yamaha has usually very few. However i wouldnt personally get anything other than a mercury becuase they have WAY more repair centers all over the place, so you know if something does go wrong at a tournament you can get it fixed. With the other two its usually hard to find. There arent any repair places near me for evinrude, there is one yamaha repair place but there are probably 20 mercury. Its all about the numbers, Mercury is so much more popular that naturally there will be more mechanics that know how to work on them
  19. I know people will not like to hear this, but the Pro Qualifier is a much better reel than the curado at a lot less money. You can get it in a nice combo for just a little more than a curado on its own
  20. Looks like a really dumb idea. The stuff is expensive, the business model is terrible and it's just going to tick off all their sponsors
  21. I think Abu beats Shimano at every price point up to $200. Then Shimano might take over. The new ci4 Chronarch is awesome.
  22. This is not true if you actually do the math. Where I buy powerbait the old packages were $3.99 for 7 chigger craw, so .57 each. The new packs are $4.69 for 9, so .52 cents each. We benefit here and overall there might be less trash from the packaging in the long run
  23. There's a thread about this every two days now...
  24. I've got the Loomis DSR822 and the Steez 7ml dropshot rod... The loomis pretty much collects dust now
