  2. East Texas, you're welcome!
  3. I would definitely contact Loomis, that wouldn't be acceptable to me.
  4. Dang I wish, no sir I have not, but I'm going to order the 903mbr to test against my other NRX rods. My go to is the 893, I'm wondering if the Conquest 903mbr is as "crisp" (if you will) as the 893 NRX.
  5. If you are wanting top tier, like you said, for the weights you listed, NRX 894 or Shimano/Loomis Conquest 894mbr, you're welcome.
  6. I always remove stock hooks and replace with triple grips or Stingers.
  7. My thoughts as well, I was really looking forward to selling mine and getting these new one's. Not sure I like them all being MBR rods, and going from 7' to 7'6", and they look like the NRX, what a kick to the nuts, but I guess it saves me some money.
  8. Another vote for Trokar TK130
  9. Lot's of great options mentioned above, if I were you, check out the new GLoomis/Shimano Conquest rods coming out at ICAST this week.
  10. I'd like to hear info on the new NRX/Conquest.
  11. I only have mono on a couple rods, I use Big Game, it gets changed every four to five trips.
  12. Very good options mentioned above, if you can add a few more dollars to your budget, try to find a used/demo NRX 853 or 854
  13. Lol, I'm glad they are working out great for you, just goes to show ya, what works great for me, may not for you
  14. I have '13 mets, MGL's, CI4+, and recently obtained a Chronarch mgl. I have been using my Mets for moving baits, figured with the new Ch mgl it should be a good replacement. It is definitely an improvement over the Ch CI4+, smooth and feels good. For me, it will not be taking the place of the Mets, I was hoping I could save a few bucks over the Met mgl, but the Met is just that fine of a reel, IMO the Ch mgl can't touch the '13 met let alone the Met mgl. YMMV
  15. Not anymore, I guess I should have made an order before I posted lol http://www.tackleexperts.com/river-sea-whopper-plopper-110-p-138459.html?osCsid=20809e89b022ae2d7c1caa00ac025f34
  16. Well sounds like Lonnie made another sale, I will be ordering a few today, thanks for your insight sir!
  17. Dicks Sporting goods had a sale, buy 16 bags for free lol, I think you can still get in on it, but not free anymore, I have 10 inch Blue flek power worms coming out of my ears now!
  18. Checks cashed are not solely based on luck, but based on many factors as stated earlier. You are correct in your thinking that time on the water, knowledge of your waters, skills, research from fine forums like this, etc. has a lot to do with success. Fishing for most of us is just "fine tuning" anyway, no? We all know what to throw, when to throw it, and how to throw it, we are all looking for that little edge that will catch us more/bigger fish. Usually that "little edge" is luck, that's why people say "hey any luck" so to answer your question, it's not all luck, but it probably plays a bigger role than one might think. YMMV
  19. Good info here, ask locals if you can, and maybe hire a guide on your waters? You can catch bass with shad baits even if your lakes don't have any. here is a real nice chunk, caught on a.... http://www.foxnews.com/us/2017/06/01/largest-bass-caught-in-texas-lake-using-mcdonalds-chicken-mcnugget.html
  20. That's a great looking spinnerbait Catt! I use the Jewel Bait Jolt Spinnerbait, mostly night fishing, that thing will loosen your teeth! Have you used the Vibra-Wedge, and how do you like the thump, thanks!
  21. I don't throw braid much, but when I do, I prefer a leader. Stay thirsty my friends
  22. Tackle Experts have the 110 in stock, will be on their webpage tomorrow morning.
  23. Popper Crankbait T-rig All three are pretty simple to use and produce well.
