  1. That never crossed my mind... I know my buddy didn't steal them because I saw the receipt for them(I didn't believe he paid what he said he did). The tackle shop has been around forever and the guy seems honest. He has some good deals but this one just doesn't make sense to me. I was going to get one from him but I'm not sure now. Should we check with the local pd?
  2. My buddy visited the local tackle shop yesterday to find the guy who owns it was selling his esox rods for a new brand. He bought all six that he had, then called me to ask if I had heard of the brand, I hadn't so I looked them up. I was stunned to find that the rods he bought retailed between three and six hundred bucks. When I relayed this to him he finally told me what he paid....$10 a piece!! So my question is, anyone think they are counterfeit?
  3. If you have a designated swim bait stick take a look at the 3:16 stuff. I really like the rising sons as they have good action, and I find them to be more durable than hudds. I tend to fish them high in the water column and even sub surface with a pretty quick retrieve to make it throw a little wake. The fish in my avatar was caught on one.
  4. okay, my estiment on lumber was high and by deep cycle i only mean the small marine batteries they sell by the car batteries at wal-mart. I may have misspoke a little. But thanks for taking it easy on me fellas . I have all saftey gear required to be on the water. Also, i had stripped everything out of the boat to begin with so im building the whole thing front to back. Thats why i have a lot of lumber. You know, rod locker, main deck, telescoping deck, bench compartments livewell houseing, all the good stuff.
  5. I recently purchased my first boat, a 16' alumacraft mod v. Its rated for a max weight capacity of 750lbs. I am in the process of modifying it with a deck and such. when all is finished it will have roughly 250lbs of lumber, plus outboard and trolling motor, 5 deep cycle batteries, 2 fishermen and gear. Think it'll float?
  6. I purchased my first boat today. Its a 14' alumacraft mod.V, With a 9.9 Johnson outboard on it and a trolling motor up front. Its not much but im very excited to have it. I got everything listed on a tilt trailer for only $300! Right place right time with cash in hand.
  7. Local shop had Pit bosses for $2. I bought......all of them(nearly 30 packs)! Should be set on pitching baits for the year.
  8. its for the best, buy new when possible. Just to know that no one has had their mitts on your reel before.
  9. Made my heart skip, I was just giving up on the cast when she Smashed it 5ft from the bank!
  10. Cardiff on a 7'6" BPS graphite series Musky rod(H). Got it from the flea market. Looking to upgrade to a swimbait rod next season
  11. I caught my first Big slammer fish today, pulled out the scale to get a weight and what do ya know the battery was dead. So I took measurements, this thing was def a football, 21"x 20"! (steel tape so girth could be a little off) Weight calculator says 8.6. Is that thing fairly accurate? Either way it was a good fish.
  12. price looks good, maybe a little too good....
  13. UPDATE: My black beauty finally showed up today. The package had been opened and sent back to cali(took 4 days). They didnt know where it was in those 4 days as the tracking stopped when it was "delivered". Then TW assumed i sent it back and refunded my money without notifying me via phonecall, so when i checked my email later i realized it. But, its here and thats all that matters now! I love it, I caught my first slammer fish today(3.5lbs). P.s. A sig. was required for this package this time, but the guy just hopped out, handed it to me, and drove off...
