  1. Bass aren't afraid of pickerel, I catch them in the same spots all the time
  2. Don't worry Georiga fishing is better that you remember! Welcome to the forums!
  3. Nice to meet ya Sam!
  4. Nice fish!
  5. I like the cherry wood rods, I use the M/F a lot for cranks... Pretty sturdy for 25$ too. My papa slammed his in the door then the next day it snapped while casting, I've had no problems with it from normal use. Its worth the 25$
  6. Guys u hav 2 use diawa dey da best.
  7. Get a backpack/tacklebag.
  8. The fish from banks are healthy from how they look, I'll shoot some emails around and see if I can find a recent evaluation on the lake
  9. Yes, they drained the lake in 2007 I believe... Dunno if they have done much else since then...
  10. I wish I could find some more recent reports on banks lake, I'd like to know if the bass populations are below average now a days. Its a tough lake, Idk if that's just because I suck at fishing or if there aren't many bass.
  11. Well I think that problem has gotten alittle better now but thanks WRB.
  12. Wow... So in one hour of electro fishing they only caught 15 bass sometimes? The seems horrible. In 2006 the CPUE was 11 according to that chart, but then again that's awhile back...
  13. With all the pickerel and bowfin in some places around here even bill gates would go broke using tungsten. I do like tungsten weights alot though! just cant afford em
  14. I have been reading documents about the local lake I fish and they have graphs that show the Catch per unit effort over the years... It seems like it will be stable/slowing decreasing then spike one year and be in the 30-35 range then go back to the 15-20 range. What is catch per unit effort, what is considered a good catch per unit effort for large mouth bass? http://www.fws.gov/bankslake/pdf/bankslakedrawdownea07.pdf Here is a PDF download of a document with one CPUE chart, it is table 2 in section 1.2
  15. I don't really think of fishing as a sport until you start getting into tournaments and stuff but I guess it is a sport by definition... Sport - an activity involving physical exertion and skill in which an individual or team competes against another or others for entertainment. If it is a sport then its definitely my favorite, but then again I don't know what I would do without running, MMA, Wrestling etc etc
  16. annnd that's why I dont use tungsten...
  17. The type-R isn't worth the extra money IMO unless you want it for the 8:1 ratio.
  18. I love catching bass on square bill crankbaits, its awesome when your reeling it in and a bass hammers your crank so hard your line goes slack...
  19. http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/142511-do-bigger-bass-baits-mean-bigger-bass/?fromsearch=1 Uhhh you already asked this question squirmin... EDIT: sorry I noticed in the OP you do mention the fact you have already asked this.
  20. This has been asked multiple times, search alittle you should find some good threads on it.
  21. Gonna try to fish the dropshot and Alabama rig more, I'm a novice in both.
  22. I get skunked all the time, my excuse is I fish a tough lake hahaha
