I am using a fluke, trick worm, or rage/speed craw when following up a top water strike... I don't always do it though. If bites are hard to come by that day I'll have a follow up bait, if not then I don't worry about it...
Really? Wow I did not know that, I knew some didn't spawn but I didn't think it was that many... That explains why I only saw a handful of bass spawning in my pond this season
Who wakes up and says, "I don't wanna catch a PB today..."?
I'm pretty sure we all plan on catching a PB every trip, and why tie on a lure if you don't think it will catch the fish you are looking for?
Plenty of old lures that still produce well, like the hula popper, Zara spook Rat-L trap, jitterbug, etc... Age has nothing to do with how effective a lure is.
This rig never ceases to amaze me... when nothing is working don't be afraid to throw this for anything your targeting! Couldn't get the catfish to bite in this pond we were fishing so I put on a bobber with a few feet of line under it and a small jig head and a little white lure and started catching catfish on every cast, sure they weren't huge but they were fun on light line!
I would probably get it certified, records are meant to be broken.
And besides to catch the state record here you'd have to beat the world record! Haha
Or chain pickerel?? I've had times where I'm punching grass, feel the thump, and set the hook but never even feel the weight of the fish before my lines cut...
Like Raul said, color only matters when it matters, color should be far down on your list when trying to figure out why bass won't bite.
Just fish your confidence colors
