  1. What set-up are you using? When I set the hook with a square bill I just sweep the rod to the right or left with a good amount of pressure and reel harder, how have you been setting the hook?
  2. Diawa tatula! It can be had for around 100$ if you look around. Try contacting Ron with valley sports
  3. Garmin is such a great company, I've never tried their cameras or expensive electronics but their GPS watches I use for running are top of the line!
  4. Read the second link I posted and that's my explanation on what separates and round bill and squarebill crankbait
  5. I'm thinking about getting a go pro camera and some good mounts, who knows maybe I can be the next Glenn May hahaha
  6. I like this explanation, great way to set your drag
  7. I really like original PP and PP super slick, buuut switching to braid probably won't help you much, FC is more abrasion resistant than braid anyway, might be something other than your line causing your break-offs what lb test was breaking on you? What cover were you fishing? Was you drag correctly set?
  8. I like bomber square A's, KVD 1.5s, and the H2O CRS square bills they are all affordable and catch lots of fish! Plenty of good info on here about fishing squarebills! I'll link some good post and articles below, if you have any specific questions about square bills I can try to answer them for you http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/145094-squarebill-crankbait/?fromsearch=1 http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/143817-how-squarebills-work/?fromsearch=1 http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/117670-bass-resource-exclusive-square-bill-crank-bait-tips-with-scott-martin/
  9. From my experience it seems that bass in muddy water like hard cover like wood and rocks more than stuff like grass and pads and won't move as far to get a bait. So maybe you could try some square bill crankbaits around the wood,
  10. There is really no way to tell without fishing the lake, that's why its called pre-fishing your supposed to figure that stuff out before tournament day! Whats the water clarity like in this lake?
  11. It really depends for me, some days ill never change lures and some days Im changing every 20 minutes.
  12. Why do you say that, When I release fish 3lb and up sometimes ill move em back and forth?
  13. Backing is when you go to the store and buy something like a bulk spool of really cheap mono that's junk and fill your spool halfway or more then tie that to your good line and fill the rest of your spool up. Thus saving you money by using less of the good line!
  14. Get them back in the water in a reasonable amount of time, don't feel rushed though...
  15. Oh my mistake I misread your post! Once the end of my line get frayed a good bit I'll chop off a couple feet too
  16. I catch them all the time down here! They taste pretty good actually and aren't that boney when cut right, don't really target them though
  17. But you HAVE to use a long rod, that's how everyone on TV does it! Don't you wanna be as good as them?? Just kidding, If you prefer shorter rods then use em!
  18. You say its 20+ trips on a spool but your spool is gonna get low very quick cutting off 15 yards every trip... Then you have to put on more backing and that's tedious. I use braid and it last forever and then some haha I just check the line for Knicks every so many cast
  19. They are worth it if you think they are worth it... I personally can't afford them, or at least don't want too haha
  20. Chartreuse black back works great in clear water too!
  21. 1000 things that should have worked, welcome to bass fishing...
  22. It can range anywhere from a couple hundred to thousands....
  23. What happened to the guy who claimed he could spool a tatula with 135 yards of line on it?? Haha
  24. I lean my rods up against the wall in the corner of my garage and have never had any problems...
  25. I just take the line off of the reel and put it on a empty spool with my hands...
