  1. In reply to the post above, of course they can find any color in a body of water. Their multiple senses allow them to, but you can make it EASIER for the bass to find your lure. Wouldn't you want the bass to have the best chance at locating your bait and having an accurate strike? I feel using colors like black in muddy water for example do just that.
  2. A jig becomes a swim jig as soon as I start swimming it... Lol
  3. Anytime I see a thread on swim jig trailers everyone always names trailers like the swimming senko, grubs, small swim baits etc etc... But you rarely see someone mention the rage craw, I use them rigged horizontally (unlike most people who rig swim jig trailers vertically) on swim jigs a lot. I'm starting to experiment to rigging them vertically and they are producing still. With rage craws being such a productive trailer on other types of jigs it seems like more people would use them on swim jigs. Where I fish the water isn't the clearest and I have more confidence in a trailer like the rage craw that gives off lots of action so the bass can find it easy... Who else uses rage craws on their swim jigs? Do you rig them horizontally or vertically?
  4. WELP, looks like I wont be buying any 25$ hudd's then... lots of Pickerel where I fish.
  5. Harrison is even better coming out of retirement! lol
  6. How good do these soft body swimbaits like the Hudd's hold up? How much use do you get out of them before they are toast and need to be replaced? How easily can they get ripped apart by toothy critters?
  7. I agree with this, I'm more worried if the bass can find my lure easily than specific colors. Like am I gonna throw a dark/bright color
  8. No matter how you look at it whatever you did with that lure at that moment in time produced you a bite, so try to do it again and see if it gets you another bite.
  9. Well you have to find the fish to catch em', But action is a lot more important then stuff like color IMO.
  10. Step 1. Carolina rig it. Step 2. Catch some hawgs.
  11. Its a shimano zeles, its from a combo shimano makes. http://fish.shimano.com/publish/content/global_fish/en/us/index/products/combos0/Zeles.html
  12. I would send it to DVT (or any other reel technician) but its a cheap reel. Is it really worth it to take a cheap reel and spend 25$ or so every so often to get it cleaned up? That's like paying around half the price of the reel itself to get it cleaned. I think I'll just try cleaning it and hope for the best...
  13. Out of all the baits you listed I'd order them like this 1. rage craw 2. Space monkey 3.Brush hog 4. Zoom lizard But they all have their place and are all great lures!
  14. Well that parts diagram is a lot to look at... didn't expect it to be that complicated haha Okay, I guess if I want to learn it'd be best to start with a cheap reel like this... When I get some free time ill sit down for a few hours and try to work it out. Probably wont be able to until this weekend but ill give you a shout if I run into trouble. Thanks!
  15. Hey guys, I have a reel from a combo I bought called the shimano zeles that I use alot and it sounds like it needs to be cleaned. I think it has dirt or something in it making it alittle rough... Do you guys think I could take it apart and clean it without breaking something even though I've never took a reel apart? How hard is it to clean a reel?
  16. Sounds like a good idea!
  17. If Pitt keeps playing like they have been lately they can go all the way!
  18. Or a swimjig/spinnerbait!
  19. You could probably look up all the countless articles on all these techniques on bassresource and just make some notes then stuff it in your tacklebox. Good luck!
  20. Rage craw in black and blue flake or green pumpkin works good for me, but any soft plastic is gonna work year round in the right places honestly...
  21. For a store I can walk into its academy, for a internet business its tackle warehouse
  22. You can see em' on your fish finder! Lol
  23. Does your reel have two left sides???
