What is fluoro-braid? Lol... I use a MH/F and a 7:1 reel with 50lb braid for swim jigs and other jigs when I'm not punching grass and pads.

I like that way of thinking, I actually did this today started with a long leader and worked shorter but I couldn't for the life of me get a bass to bite a dropshot today. Caught some on a lipless and swimjig.

Im no pond expert, But If the pond has survived and thrived (7lb bass!) For 15 years I'm sure it has seen tougher times....

How old is the pond I'm curious if you know, if it has 7 pounders its probably had bass awhile (assuming nobody stocked some big bass in there)...

Only problem I have with buying license is that the money is supposed to go back into the lakes to maintain them, but heck nobody takes care of the lakes around here, So where is our money going? But the law is the law and I will buy my license as long as I have to.

Yup, and sometimes I don't mind and sometimes I do... Earlier this year I was fishing the edge of some matted grass with lipless crankbaits and started putting fish in the boat left and right, I guess people from all over the lake saw me and decided to voyage across the lake and block me on both sides from moving along the weed edge that I claimed first, It luckly didn't ruin my day because I found some more fish on the other side of the lake...

Because bass don't always bite like they did yesterday...

If there are near 7 pounders in there then its at least a 4 or 5 year old pond, so I assume they are probably fine....

Dropshot, I've been fishing it more and more and I've found it works great in the weeds when your leader is just a little bit taller than the grass your fishing!

When y'all are fishing a drop shot shallow ( 6ft or less ) in late fall/early winter do you prefer a shorter leader like 12-16 inches or still prefer a long leader like 20-30 inches? Been fishing about a 12-16 inch leader and have been catching some fish but thought I may be not catching all the fish I could be...
